| 16-6-2009 - 34 Week OB Appointment and General Update. | My mood while writing this blog:Great! |
As I was leaving the OB's office I mentioned to her that I had refused an induction at 40 weeks and 4 days. She asked if I was still opposed to being induced around the 40 week mark. I told her this time I would probably go for it providing I could get an epi as I know the pain is so much worse for me with pitocin. I have never used any pain meds in my previous deliveries...this would be a first for me. She said it was something we would discuss further, but definitely gave me the impression that she is willing to induce me if I want to at about 40 weeks. I am kind of excited. I may not go to 41 or 42 weeks! Yay! I might get to have my baby with my group of gals on here. I am thrilled.
After my OB appointment I was on cloud 9 and I went shopping. Bad idea. I spent way too much, but i had so much fun doing it. I bough the baby some wall art, dresses, sleepers, onesies, funky shoes, travel cloth high chair, stainless steel bottles and a nursing cover and 3 burp cloth set for me(Be Be Au Lait). I also go my hubby and I new bedding as we are getting a new king sized bed and I only have queen bedding. I went to my fav little funky store, Blame Betty, and got some cool tattoo art type sheets. I went to JYSK for duvet covers and a new duvet to match the sheet set. Great prices there.... too bad not quite the same at BB.
I also talked to Chance's new teacher at the school he will be going to next year. She seems great. The school seems great and totally prepared to handle a child like Chance.... unlike his current school. We go for a meeting on Thursday to meet the teacher and staff as well as tour the school. Yay!
I think your induction plan sounds fair and 40 weeks is long enough!!! I was induced with my first at 38 weeks and only lasted 24 hours with out the epi (out of a total of 36). I never had expectations about not using pain meds I was open to it so when I asked for the epi it wasn't so bad. They turned the epi off when I was fully dialted so I would feel the contractions and know when to push and feel the delivery which as painfull as it was, was a great experience. Having the epi for me was amazing!! I had one called a walking epi so right after the baby is born you are able to get up and move. I will be having an epi this time as well and I don't think I will wait to ask for one LOL.
I am envious of your shopping I haven't got to do much lately. The stainless steel bottles sound interesting is there a reason for them being made of steel or is it just for the look? BeBe Au Lait has such amazing items if breast feeding works out this time around I want to get one of their covers. I love tattoo art I picked up some onesies with tattoo art on them I think my little man will look very classy in them ;o)
I am glad to hear that Chance's new teacher are so great. You must be so excited for the fresh start.
