| 20-7-2009 - 38/39 Week OB Appointment and Update. | My mood while writing this blog:cramping, but happy |
I woke up nice and refreshed for my OB appointment today. When I got there they did my weight. I have gained one pound in the last week for a total of 13.5 back from the 21 lost. My blood pressure was perfect despite the fact that I felt slightly dizzy today. The nurse told me that we would not be doing an internal exam today as they did one last week. I was bummed. I wanted my membranes swept even though it doesn't do much for me, it still doesn't hurt to try. Maybe one of these days... lol! Well, when the OB came in and she asked me, "Should we exam you today? We should... you're only a week away from due date." I was in totall agreement. LOL! So she examined me. I guess I misunderstood her last week. I was only 1 cm dilated and she could stretch me to 2 cms. This week I am definitely 2 cms and she could stretch me to 3 or a little more. My cervix is still long so I am not effaced a lot, but she can feel baby's head right there. She reamed my cervix and said she was doing an extra special job to try and stir something up. It actually hurt. I have never complained of that procedure hurting before, but it did today. Not that I mind... if it works I will be happy! She really doesn't want me to have baby until Thursday because she is on call that night. I would love to time it so I can have my actual OB deliver, but whenever baby is ready to come is when she is going to arrive. I left her office cramping and with mild back pain. Lets see if it goes anywhere.... LOL!
I hope everyone is doing well with their new babies, hanging in there with their bellies or having good luck trying to conceive!
