| 28-7-2009 - 40 Week OB Appointment and Good News |
My mood while writing this blog: perturbed |
So yesterday was my 40 week OB appointment even though I wasn't 40 weeks until today. Baby is measuring on time. Heart rate was good at about 150 bpm. BP was good. I have gained a total of 16 lbs back from the 21 lost in the first half of my pregnancy. Not too shabby. She checked me again and I had effaced a little more, but not by much and I was still only 2 cms dilated. She asked me if I just wanted to go ahead and book an induction for next week. I said, "Sure." So my induction is booked for Tuesday August 4th at 7:15 am. No more appointments I just go straight there that morning. Yay! An end in sight. She did strip my membranes again and we thought maybe third time would be the charm as it was with Corgan... mind you I was 10 days overdue when I had my membranes reamed for the third time and my body was ready.
So that was the start of my exciting day. I went to my BBF's house to pick up my youngest son and they informed me they are moving. We live close to each other so I was bummed. Then she mentioned another house available in the same area for cheaper. We don't currently live in the best area and I don't really want Chance growing up in this "rough" neighbourhood with all the issues we are struggling with with him. In fact I don't want any of my kids growing up in this neigbourhood. So my hubby and I looked into it. By the end of the night we had got ourselves a new home! A new home. In a nice new neighbourhood!!!
I was so excited and had been so busy I did not notice that my body had been actively contracting all day. I felt it, but paid no attention as it was normal after having my membranes reamed. I came home after our great evening out and was wired. I could not sleep... in fact I did not even think of sleep. It was then that I realized I was having contractions. I laid down to time them and they become stronger and regular at 1.5 to 2 minutes. They were 3 to 6 minutes apart and painful enough that I could not sleep. I timed them for well over two hours. After a while they became irregular, shorter and less painful. I gave up and went to sleep. I still felt them in my sleep and periodically one would wake me up but after a while they slowed right down and I could barely feel them. I was bummed. They have continued all day long, but with no real pattern or pick up. I think I may be in early phase which I went through with Corgan for 4 weeks! Yes, 4 weeks of regular contracting. My MD at the time told me that it was due to my uterus being well used and baby having more room to float around in there so the head is not connecting properly or solidly with the cervix to release the hormones to move me into the next phase of labour. Makes sense. So, anyhow, that is what I think I am going through. Again. Oh joy.
I hope everyone is doing well!!

Wednesday, 29 Jul Well luckily you KNOW that if it doesn't end by Aug 4th, then it WILL end there :) That's 1 day after my bday lol! It's so exciting! When I was told I was being in induced in 3 days, I got no sleep at all! Congrats on the new home too! Sounds like you're going to be pretty busy with a new baby and packing and moving and unpacking. I'm excited for you :) And I know what you mean about not wanting your kids to grow up in your neighborhood. We have a very nice street. Everyone seems pretty close on our block, just a street over it gets bad and then worse every next street. Hopefully we'll be moving within the next couple of years too. BabyNatezmama -
