| 18-8-2009 - Poet's 2nd Week, Baby Shower and Update. | My mood while writing this blog:Tired |
Poet still is not settling on her own. She is mostly being held during the day and she often cluster feeds during the day. Not every day, but some days. However she still sleeps 4 to 6 hours during the night and is only up for 30 to 45 mins for a quick feed and change. Its nice.
We had our baby shower on Sunday and we got spoiled. She got a lot of clothes(including a pink Puma outfit and a Winnie the Pooh outfit, hat, and booties), a baby Einstein play mat, baby toys and teethers, a newborn bracelet, diapers, wash clothes, stainless steel sippy cup, diaper cake(homemade by Vanessa and Michelle) with lots of toys and wash cloths as well, a homemade patchwork quilt and pillow, and closet separaters. The baby shower was fun. We played games, drank Champagne, ate finger foods and all snuggled with Poet. One of the perks was Crave cupcakes! They are the best cupcakes in Calgary and I indulged in the red velvet Elvis! Yummers! I had two.... bad me! But it was so worth it. I had a really good time and am so honored that my best girlfriends went all out for me. It was actually my first baby shower ever so it really made my day!
In other news we are moving and are now mostly moved into our new place. We are loving the new place. Poet and I slept so good in our brand new(to us) king sized pillow top bed. It was heavenly! The new house is no bigger than the old house, but its much newer(2003) and way nicer. We love it. My bedroom is more spacious and our kitchen is much bigger and has a sky light. I love it! We have moved into a much better neighborhood and its so much more quiet out here. I love the high ceilings and the fact that Poet and Corgan have their own rooms. No more sharing for them. Tomorrow I am planning on more unpacking and decorating. My favorite part of moving! Decorating. Unpacking... not so much.
Anyhow, I am loving my little girl and my big family. I hope all is well with everyone!
