16-2-2010 - 6 and a half months.

My mood while writing this blog: Chipper

We started her on solids just before her six month birthday with just rice cereal which was going really well. After a week or so I tried to add a vegetable. We went with green beans. Well, she hated them and now has stopped eating solids all together. I was trying to force her, but gave up as I did not want to traumatize her. My mom said my brother was strictly breast fed up until 7 months too. I have also talked to several other friends that told me the same thing. So I am giving her a break and just trying every few days. If she shuts her mouth and turns her head I let it go. If by 7 months she is not showing more interest then I will take her to our doc.

She has been sitting up unassisted since 4.5 months and is now army style crawling. She babbles tonnes and says 'da da' all day long as well as a few other syllables. I am working on the 'ma ma' with her. She says it periodically, but its more 'da da' and 'ba ba.'

She is a very good baby. We are constantly getting compliments on how easy she is. She still sleeps through the night and is often the last one to rise in our house. I wish her brother was the same way. Corgan is up at 6:30 or 7 am regardless.

I really enjoy my time home with her and find that this year is going by far too fast. In 4 and half months I am back to work. It's crazy how fast time flies with having kids. Right now I am watching my BFs daughter as she just went back after her mat leave and the extra money is nice. I am thankful that I already have child care lined up for Corgan and Poet. One less stressor.
