12-7-2008 - It's A BOY!!

My mood while writing this blog: Excited

Well today I had my 16 week ultra sound and all went well. Today I am 16w 4 days and the baby was measuring at 17 wks 4 days. We also found out that we are having a Boy! We saw his two long legs and something else in between those legs. The tech checked to make sure it was not the umbilical cord and sure enough it was not. So very exciting news to share with everyone. I will go back in 4 weeks ( I'll be 20 weeks then) for a anatomy scan. The doctor said to be prepare that this will be a long ultra sound. The longer the better, the more we get to see of him. Before we finished the u/s he the baby waved at us, it was really cute. When it was time for the tech to take some pictures she said the baby was not in a good position, so we left with no pictures:( Oh well at least we know we are having a boy! We are both very excited! There is a little part of me that wanted the girl just so I could dress her up in pretty pink outfits. Oh well, maybe the next one will be a girl. That way she could have a big brother to protect her from all those mean boys. Now I am really looking into the future! Well just wanted to share our good news, I hope everyone has a great weekend.

One more thing, I did break down and rent a Doppler machine. It is so cool, I got it yesterday. It tells the babies heart rate and yesterday it was 148. I told my husband that it was too close to say if it was a boy or a girl. Today at the doctors his heart rate was 149, so the machine is pretty accurate. We have decided on a name for our son, it is going to be Landon. We are not 100% in agreement on the middle name, but we are leaning towards Landon James. I really like this name, James is my fathers, grandfathers, and brothers name. My husband said that it is to early to decide. Silly boys what do they know!
