24-9-2008 - MIL's!!!!

My mood while writing this blog:
PISSED OFF

My MIL seams to be getting more and more spiteful towards me!!! She invited me through for a coffee this morning just to tell me she wasn't happy that I'm expecting again!!!! How crap dose that make me feel! She spent the whole of last year begging me and my partner to have another child!!!!!

She told me that she is not going to cancel her holiday just for me! (I never asked her too!) She keeps going on about not knowing I was pregnant or she wouldn't have booked it in the first place! I kept telling her that I would have made her go on the holiday anyway. She then went on to say that she thinks my Mum is boody selfish for not canceling her holiday, (Which she has been planning for as long as I can remember!) I told her I would never forgive my mum if she canceled her holiday just for me!, she has wanted to help with the orphanages in Romania for sooooo long now and I'm proud that she is finally getting to for fill one of her dreams!

She then went on to say that she thinks we should see a doctor straight after having this baby to get ourselves fixed so that we can't have any more!!!! WHO THE BLOODY HELL DOES SHE THINK SHE IS!!!!!!!!!!! she said that she could just see us keep on havng children till I have a girl! I DON'T care what sex this baby is just as long as it is healthy. I love it to bits already and no one can take that from me!!!!!

She keeps telling me that I won't cope with it when it arrives!!! Why not????? I have no reason what so ever not to cope with it!

I'm sooooo cross and angry I could cry! I hope more than ever now that this baby arrives whilst she is on her holiday and that I can prove her wrong! I don't need her help! :-(

That is enough to make anybody cry! I would also be angry and would most certainly have cried! I must say, she sounds worse that I expected, that is definitely one of the worst MIL situations I have heard. Poor you, I think it is horrible that she had this talk with you and that she has NO consideration whatsoever for your feelings! It is your and your husbands child, not hers and do prove her wrong, if she offers help, no matter how much you need it, I wouldn't take it! I would simply play the same game as she does.

I would truly have taken exception to this, really. I cannot believe it!

Good luck honey, I am thinking of you and I also hope the baby comes while she is on holiday! You CAN do this. Don't listen to her.

Wow, I can't believe she said all that to you! I thought my MIL was bad...she keeps telling me I'm probably going to drop the baby or something...I don't understand why she thinks I'm unable to raise a baby, I mean I spent EVERY summer from the time I was 9 years told til I was 20 taking care of babies...It won't be much different, only that I can't go home at the end of the summer lol. My MIL also tells me she hates the name we picked out (Hayden) and she hates everything I buy for the him, however you should see some of the stuff she's been buying! I've been "losing" some of it cuz it's just soooooooooooooo UGLY! Well, I hope your MIL gets better.
