21-9-2008 - 19 week appointment/ Hurricane Ike happyMy mood while writing this blog:
happy

A whole lot has happened during the last week. A week ago yesterday, Hurricane IKE hit. I cannot tell you how INSANE it has been. It's been over a week and we still don't have power at our apartment! My husband and I are staying with his parents until we get power once again, which could be up to another 3 weeks! Thank God that they have power, it is SOO hot! And being pregnant makes it SOOO much worse! Nobody has produce, milk, frozen foods because most of the stores around me don't have power, I have been eating so badly! Gas lines have finally calmed down. The first couple of days it was so bad, people were waiting in line for 3 hours to buy gas!

The hurricane hit early saturday morning so I was really suprised when I received a phone call tuesday morning to confirm my wednesday doctor appointment. I was sooooooooooooooooooooooo EXCITED that it wasn't cancelled and that they had power! SO IT'S TIME TO TALK ABOUT MY TWO LITTLE BABIES!

I was 18 weeks and 6 days at the appointment. I did the usual, peed in a cup and they took my weight and blood pressure. I don't know about the urine results, they've never really talked to me about it which is probably a good thing because that means there's nothing wrong! : ) The doctor then came in and started the ultrasound. He was a little tired, he said he delivered 6 babies over the weekend! My ababies were moving around like crazy during the ultrasound! It was adorable! I have one BOY for sure! We saw his little doodle! He was lying vertex on my right side. The other baby on my left was a little stinker! The dr. tried for about 20 minutes to find out the sex of the the baby and he/she wouldn't cooperated! The baby had his/her legs tucked up under his/her butt and wouldn't spread em! What a sitnker! I think the dr. took so long tring to find out the sex of the other baby because if it is another boy, there's a chance that they're identical. And he did say that he got a little hint that is another boy. He wasn't 100% certain once again though. I have to wait another 4 weeks to find out for sure! I can't take it! I hope there's a little girl in there, I need someone to watch my Disney princess movies with! haha! My husband said that if they are two boys, I have permission to feminize one of them, hahahah! he was joking of course!

The doctor also took measurements, everything is looking GREAT he says. The spines on both babies look awesome and so do their bladders.! There's only one thing that kinda bugged me. The babies are measuring 18weeks3days, 3 days under what I'm supposed to be. The dr. assured me that it was okay, but it makes me nervous. Anybody else have something similar happen?

I'm glad that I have two healthy babies on the way! YAY! I just put up pics of my belly, go look!!

Great news on your u/s! My docs told me at my 1st u/s not to panic if the twins are measuring off a few days as time progresses and that sometimes they even have a week discrepancy, but it is good that they are growing at the same rate, hope that info comforts you- I can't wait to hopefully make it to the same place you are with the same great news! Congrats!

Congratulations on your healthy little babies. I'm really happy for you. It would be so cool if your kids were identical. Hope things get better in regards to Hurricaine Ike.
