31-5-2009 - list from hospital on what to pack OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

As far as what to pack this is the list I received from my hospital when I took the parenting course.

For moms:

-popsicles, speacial juices, & hard candy (on a stick)

-socks & slippers

-a nursing or good fitting bra

-sleepwear if you prefer not to wear the hospital gowns

-clean clothes to go home in; soap, shampoo, and lotion (if you have special preferences)

-toiletries other than toothpase, toothbrush, & sanitary pads

-cd's or tapes of your favorite relaxation music

-camera & extra film

-insurance cards

-phone numbers of people to call after the baby is born

For baby:

-an approved car seat

-seasonal outfit for baby to wear home including undershit, hat, & booties

-two receiving blankets & one larger blanket for trip home

-a special outfit for baby to wear for photograph

Optional:

-breast pump (so they can help you evaluate its effectiveness)

-snacks for delivery

-birth announcements

-baby book (so they can footprint for you)

For pet owners:

-a small banket from home to pick up the baby's scent to assist pets in adjusting and accepting the baby.
