01-12-2008 - Stressed.....again!! OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

I feel like the only time I write on here anymore is when I get stressed out about something, but I can't help it!

My doc called this morning and told me that my sugar levels came back high after my glucose test last week, so now I have to go back this week and do the 3 hour test! UGH!! I still have a bruise on my arm from them drawing blood last week, and now they are going to have to draw it 4 more times for this test!! So, anyways, now I'm really freaking out, and doing the worst thing possible and looking up Gestational Diabetes on google trying to find all the info I can on it, which just makes things worse cause it scares me that I might have it and all that I will have to go through to keep my little man healthy! I'm really hoping that it was a false positive because of something I ate that day (even thought I was really careful), but I don't know how common it is to have a false positive or how high my numbers were or anything! So anyways wish me luck that this is all just a fluke and I'm getting all upset over nothing!

Oh yeah, one more thing! I was just curious if anyone else is having this problem or not.......See my husband and I have been putting money away in our savings account so that as we find things we need for the baby we have the money there to go ahead and get them. We usually only buy stuff cause it ends up on sale, or they discontinue it and they won't let us keep it on our registry, so we'll go ahead and buy it! Well a couple weeks ago when our families were in town for my first shower they were all sitting around talking and started listing off all the things that we had already bought ourselves and then started complaining that we weren't leaving anything for them to buy! I'm like ok first of all there are hundreds of things this little man needs before February (all on the registry I might add). Second of all, any time I mention anything we need all they do is complain about how much it costs! So, I'm not quite sure how they wanted me to respond to that! Then to make things even worse, my husband was talking to his mother this past weekend and she just going on and on about how we haven't bought a matress yet! I'm like ok, wait a minute, one minute I'm buying too much, and then the next you're complaining about something I haven't bought!?!?! I mean which do you want me to do here!!?!? Maybe it's just hormones, but it's driving me crazy ya know! Anyways, is anyone else having this problem or is it just me!?!?!

Hi.. I had my 3 hour test yesterday. My first test last week my sugar was 161 and they don't want it any higher than 140. Yesterday, my fasting glucose was normal, the next one was high, the next one was normal and now I am waiting to hear back on the last one. They told me regardless I would be borderline and have to just watch my sugar intake, but if the last test comes back high they will send me to a nutritionist for a "strict" diet. Please try not to worry about it. They told me 85% of people who go back for the 3 hour are not diabetic. And if you are, you only have a couple of months left to have to deal with it. That's how I am looking at it at least. Hope that helps. Let us know how it turns out.

Ok the whole family thing has me laughing!!!! Too typical - they all want to buy what they want to buy and apparently those are the things you have been buying - ha ha.. Too bad for them. If they want to help they can buy what you need and have registered for or just buy whatever they feel like. I felt like we had alomost everything and then when I went to register I realized how much more I really need - I sure hope some people buy these items for us! Money wise it is hard to keep putting out - esp with my daughters b-day this weekend and Christmas... - Your glucous test- totally common to have to retake it! The first one isn't one you need to fast or watch what you eat so I wouldn't worry about screwing that up. The longer one you will be taking however I think you do need to fast.. Best wishes..
