My mood while writing this blog: Disillusioned |
Here's the thing.
I've developed a chesty cough since Wednesday.
No flu, no fever, no sore throat etc. Just the cough.
My obgyn says to see my primary care physician 'if he would see me' as 'they don't really like seeing pregnant ladies'.
She was right.
My primary care physician won't see me - because I'm pregnant and they say my obgyn is my PCP for the duration of the pregnancy.
I call my obgyn's office on Thursday, to find out what I can do.
They gave me a list of cold meds that are safe. I don't have the cold.
So I start taking cough lozenges, but the cough is really chesty and congested.
On Friday evening I begin with slight body aches and very low grade fever - not even 100F. Saturday I call the on call obgyn, who told me to take Tylenol Cold (I don't have the cold) and if the fever persists and is over 101F to go to an urgent care and maybe they will give me anti-biotics. So this I did last night and at least I got some rest as the Tylenol Cold has a cough suppresant.
The fever is really slightly elevated but I'm going to the urgent care center just so that a doctor can listen to my chest. A lot of noise in there.
I don't know who's gonna prescribe anti-biotics to a pregnant patient.
I feel so much like in the twilight zone here.
Telling me to go to my obgyn to for a chest congestion is like telling me to go to my dentist for a broken bone.
Seriously......
