24-1-2009 - poorly George worried and sadMy mood while writing this blog:
worried and sad

Well Thursday night i went out so Adam put George to bed at 6:30pm at 7:30pm he woke up crying so he went up to try and settle him but George just kept crying and then started screaming, he didn't know what to do so he gave him some milk and some calpol and he was sick straight away, all of his milk all over him. Adam had to completly change him and his sleeping bag. He gave him some more milk and he went to sleep again. I got home about 9pm and at around 10:30 George started screaming again, and i mean screaming! it was awful! He hardly ever cried so this was heartbreaking. He seemed to be asleep and it was like he was having a nightmare or something. I kept trying to get him to wake up but he wouldn't open his eyes. Adam came up and blew on his face which woke him. We managed to calm him down after about 15 mins so i made up some more milk and gave it to him. (at this point i didn't know adam had given him calpol earlier) He finished his milk and i gave him some calpol and he was soooooo sick! it just kept coming and coming and he couldn't breath. it was so scary. We had to strip him completly which was awful as he was shivering. He had sick everywhere, in every crease, in his ears! We gave him a top to toe wash and got him dressed again. I put him down (without milk) and he went off to sleep (after lots of crying)! Friday day he seemed ok, not 100% but no sick and he ate his food ok. Last night he went down ok but was restless then he woke up at 2:30am screaming again so i put him in with us and he calmed down. i tried to put him back but every time he left contact with me he cried. I saw every hour except 5am last night so today i was soooo tired! He woke up this morning, had his milk and porridge and then was sick! he wouldn't eat his lunch so he has just had milk today (and not much). He's been trying lots and wouldn't go to sleep without me again, (he usually goes down by himself fine).

Do you think he is teething or has picked up a little tummy bug or something? i'm really worried and don't know whether to give him any food tommorro or just stick to milk?

could i be over feedfing him? I've been weaning him since he was 4 months. He now has milk and then porridge for breakfast. Home made vegtables with a shop brought fruit pot for lunch, no milk just water in cup. He then has milk at 2:30pm and at 5pm he has tea which is veg and fruit or yogart or rice pudding? Am i giving him too much shop brought stuff? It's good makes like hipp organic and cow and gate?

Anyone got any idea what could be wrong. He is such a happy boy usually. I feel so sad for him :(

Hi hun!
How is George? Babies don't usually fancy much food when they are teething (well, I say that, as Harry has got his 1 front tooth already and the second is coming through as we speak) and he generally goes off anything being put in his mouth. I have to agree with Laura, it does sound like a tummy bug. I use the same baby food as you do so I don't think its that unless the porridge seems too rich? I think he was so sick cos you gave him a few bottles to settle him and he possibly didn't want it so just sicked it back up..Do you use a dummy? I find that settles Harry. Are you still steralising his feeding spoons and bowls? Also, your kettle, when you boil your water to give him, how old is your kettle as it could have limescale build up...all these things us parents have to be aware of its silly isn't it! my mum asks me all this all the time!! Did you take his temperature? anything over 37 is warm for a baby. I agree its heartbreaking when your baby cries and no matter what you can't help them! I do hope he is OK, Keep me posted! Love Michelle and Harry x

Hiya, Mia had a sickness bug just before christmas, its awful, ive never seen so much sick! It sounds like hes got a little sickness bug to me or possibly something didnt agree with him??
I wouldnt worry about the food just the bottle as he doesnt wanna get dehydrated!
I would ring doctors tomorrow morning if he seems unwell still. Poor george!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope he gets better soon! Take care.
