12-6-2009 - H1N1 okMy mood while writing this blog:
ok

Ok, so today was the last day of school for my daughter. She has officially finished Kindergarten and off to 1st grade at the end of August.

As she was on her way home, I got a message from the school nurse, that in their (meaning my daughter's) community they have the first confirmed case of swine flu.

I am a pretty calm person, but let me tell you, this news took me a minute to adjust to. My husband is telling me that chances are...blah,blah,blah...

It's 8 pm and I'm thinking, I volunteered to watch my best friends baby (8months). My best friend has three daughters and the oldest one goes to school with my daughter. To the same school. Well the baby threw up the entire contents of her dinner tonite. I did not get scared as my bf told me it happened before. But, she is now telling me that has stopped and it just started again as of yesterday and now she is afraid what if....

Anyways, long story short, I am just praying tonight that whatever it is it's not from school.

Thank you for reading.

I think that if you look at how many people are affected by the common flu each year, you'll find out it's much much more than the swine flu. It's just our media/government trying to scare us again. Just wash your hands alot, use santitizer, disinfect door handles, bathrooms, etc. and take lots of Vit. C and acidophilus. Should help you lots. Hope you and your family is feeling well. Talk to you later.

My daughters school sent home a simular paper on Friday. I new about it because my nieces friends are all still in the hospital with H1N1. Being close to NY city this really concerns me, however my husband and I have desided we can't keep our girls hidden from the outside world. Yesterday they went a birthday party, today a fishing derby and tomorrow a girl scout picnic. I just make sure they wash their hands a lot and if my husband notices anyone acting sick sneezing, coughing, ect... he brings them home. I

I hope your friends baby is ok. They are saying that it effects young children, pregnant women and the elderly the most. I will pray that you all stay healthy.

I hear ya about freaking out. My daughter's high school had a case at the end of the school year. Kristina (dd) was coughing for like two weeks and she ended up with the flu. H1N1 I don't know, don't think so but I was trying my best to stay away from her. I had watched on the news a few days before I found out that pregnant women are more susceptible. I say do what your gut tells you..better to be safe than sorry. I'm sure all will be fine ;o)
