26-1-2012 - I'm back and it's IVF time!

Hi everyone

It's been a long time! Some of you may recall that I had a miscarriage in January 2008 and since then, have never had another BFP. My husband was the main issue with 100% sperm antibodies. We could not get free IVF funding on the NHS until I was 30 and my BMI weight was less then 30.

Happy to report that over the last 3 years, I have shifted 3 stone (42lbs) and my BMI is approx 29 AND in 5 weeks time I'll finally be 30 years old which means I qualify for 3 funding rounds of ICSI/IVF! Hoorah!

Our first consultation is on 29th February so before then, hubby has to provide a sample and we both have to have full blood tests. I can't quite believe we're finally here and potenitially, we could have a baby by the middle of 2013! (13 is my lucky number!) Obviously I'm fully prepared that it may just not work for us but fingers crossed. I'll try and keep a diray and in the mean time I think I may have a read of nikki121lottie blogs on IVF (thanks Nikki)

Welcome back :-) its great that you have managed to lose all that weight, congratulations. Its great that you are finally getting a chance at IVF I hope it works for you first time.
