| 29-1-2009 - 1st Doctor's Appointment | My mood while writing this blog:Stressed |
I sooooo need a new doctor. After an hour of sitting in the cold with nothing but that thin tissue on the doctor comes in and says that I am on my way to chronic high blood pressure. She says she is giving me a prescription for high blood pressure and sending me back for more lab work. I have to give more blood, and collect my urine for a 24-hour period to check my kidneys. She also is making an appointment for genetic counseling because I am a sickle cell trait carrier.
My husband was with me and was standing up so that he could see the monitor and get a look at the baby. This lady had the nerve to tell my husband to have a seat all the way over in the corner! He won't bothering nobody!
He knew I was concerned about the whole pressure thing so he asked about whether stress could be a reason. She told him, "Nice try, but I doubt she was stressed the last 2 times she came in also!" That I have had to had elevated blood pressure for a while now. That when a woman is pregnant her pressure is usually normal in the beginning because that is God's way of giving her a break.....?
Before I left, I asked if my pressure was at a level where it is maintainable and can be stopped. She says, uh yeah that's why I gave you a prescription for ANTI-high blood pressue. THAT AIN'T WHAT YOU SAID LADY! She bussed in the beginning talking about CHRONIC high blood pressure.
I was so scared yall that I couldn't even get excited about seeing our FIRST baby. I think she said I'm measuring 6 wks 4 days or it could have been 5 weeks 4 days it definitely wasn't 6 wks 1 day. But I was too out of it to really care........
I'm planning to call tomorrow about switching doctors. I didn't want a male doctor but he and & son have delivered ALL of my husband's family. She really had bad bedside manner and I don't need that added stress.
Plus my husband took me to CVS after I calmed down to check my pressure there. My pressure read 127/74 after testing twice for the same roundabout numbers. There the doctor said my number was like 140/99 but my husband and I could have sworn we heard the nurse said 140/89 because it was 140/85 during my previous visit.
Those who know the words of prayer, please pray my strength in the Lord!
