12-8-2009 - 34 Weeks

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Wow, 34 weeks. It is odd to think that some of us September mommies will have our babies in a month since some of us will probably deliver around 38 weeks. I just hope Makaylah is here by around 39 weeks.

I had my 34 weeks appointment this morning. I wasn't seen at my 32 weeks appointment until 5 pm when they close at 5. I got there at 3:45. She suggested I make myself her first appointment of the day or right after they reopen for lunch. I made it for 8:45. Tell me why they don't officiallly open until 9 am! The scale showed that I lost 3 lbs which would make my total gain 13 lbs. I don't think I've 'lost', we all know that our morning weight is different from our after lunch weight. But I did like what the scale said better this time around!

I'm waiting in the room and the nurse comes in and asks if she told me last week that she would do my Group B Strep Test, I told her that she didn't say. She says, "Well, maybe she'll do it at your next appointment." I'm waiting and waiting and I hear from out the door, "Is Kathy here or on her way?". Find out that she and another midwife both went to a clinic located across town. My midwife was suppose to come in to the main office to see her patients. So what did that mean for me.....no ultrasound AGAIN. Just the weighing, peeing in the cup, listening to the heartbeat, and have a nice day. I hate seeing the other midwives, they are 'pleasant' but not nice like Kathy. Makaylah wasn't happy either because she must have been laying limp. This lady pressed down on me so hard trying to see if she was head down. I looked at her like, "Really, is that necessary?" Makaylah is usually not hard to find but as soon as I got in the car she took her regular position which feels like her butt is pushing out of my right side. Oh well, I guess we will try again for 9:15 am at 36 weeks!
