My mood while writing this blog: confused |
Hi ladies,if you have read my profile it states that I will be a 2009 graduate in the Summer, but I don't think it will be my outcome.I set a goal last year that I will finish school by the end of 2009 and I still hopefully plan to do so. I transfered to a new school this semester to improve my GPA and I must say that it has improved alot ....If I was to return back to my old school I can graduate in the Summer but my GPA sucks over there, but if I continue at the school I'm presently going to I can graduate in the Fall with a higher GPA and it will be easier for me to get hired.
I have 3 more classes left,I will be taking 2 in the Summer, and (this is where my prob comes in) then I have one more class left over which is not offered in the Summer at either school which means I will have to take it in the Fall....I have my baby in September on the 17th,school starts August 24....the class I will be attending is one day a week from 6:30 pm-9:15pm (Human Relations-a pretty simple class)-school is in another city about 30 mins away.I spoke with my mom and she said she has no problem at all watching the baby while I attend school-because my bf will be working. My bf said he does not think it's possible for me to have a baby one week then go back the following week, because I do not know what will follow for instance, being placed on bed rest .So he thinks it's maybe a good idea to set this one out. But he said whatever I want to do he will support me...I really don't know what to do.
Do you ladies think it's possible to have a baby and attend school a week later or two or am I being unreasonable about the situation.I really want to be able to provide for my baby too like the daddy will be doing,I just want the best for him and I know in order for me to do so...I need to graduate and find that perfect job.So what do you ladies think?

Sunday, 31 May II don't thing you should skip your class. Unless you are having a c/c . My sister did fine and she was also working. Your professor can e-mail you assignments and reading. Plus school will not be for the whole day and for 5 days. grayleigh -
Friday, 22 May Since you will have already attended about 2 and maybe even 3 classes, the professor may make an exception and allow you to miss a week, giving you two weeks off. even with a c-sec pain meds could get you through the few hours of class after that. i had a c-sec and managed to do things. make sure you have back up plans for a sitter just in case cuz u never want your baby to be a burden to anyone. if you are really worried, e-mail the teacher before you register so that you can be sure that if you need to you can miss one class or go on another day the same class takes place. as in all things, communication is key. karinaM -
Friday, 22 May i say go for it. because if everythinggoes ok, you will be like new in two weeks. a little tired but feeling good fisically. and if you don't feel good you can always drop the class and get a refund maybe. i wish you the best and you still have time to decide. missdaisy623 -
Friday, 22 May I'm in school also, and I HAVE to take classes in the fall or else I have to start paying back my student loans which sucks because I was hoping to be able to take the semester off. But both of my classes are only 1-2 days a week and I will be talking to my professors about when I will be out for the baby and I'm sure they will work around me. Maybe you could contact your professors to see if anything can be set up so that you may can do your work from home or something. Good luck!! blessedbaby2be -
Friday, 22 May I know exactly what you mean. I have 3 more classes left too. I am taking 5 right now just so I can get done before our due date. If you ahve someone to watch the baby I don't see why you couldn't finish your last little classes. It is important to set up your future now for all the baby will need, you just need Great Support. I think you can do it! PhatNSassy -
Friday, 22 May Maybe you should come up with a plan for both scenarios. Plan for going to class, you have the plan pretty set up already for that. So then you should also think about what you would need to do if you decided that you could not go to class. If you registered you would need to call and let the school know that you cannot attend. They will refund any money that you have given. Just try to have both things set up. That way you will be ready for either. That would help me feel like I am just going to not worry about it because I am doing everything I can. That would give me a sigh of relief and peace of mind. If that idea doean't make you feel better and you think that just having a concrete decision right now would make you feel better, sit and figure that out for your self. Being slightly delayed on graduation is not ideal, but it will be ok. I hope you find something that makes you feel less stressed! rosye13 -
Friday, 22 May It really depends on how your delivery goes. If you have a c-section you will need a lot more time to rest. Now, my delivery was a breeze. I was walking around that night. And a couple of days later I was out and about. I definitely could have started school the next week. But there's no way to be certain that it will be like that. Sorry, I know that's not much help, but it's kind've taking a chance either way.
