Whew! Just a quick visit today (17 weeks, 4 days, day 124, 44.3% done...but who's counting anyway?). We declined the triple screen and just heard the heartbeat...150bpm! Doc said anything between 125 and 160 was good so our little thumper was chugging along!
He also said we can schedule our big US as early as 18 weeks but we opted to leave it at the 20 week mark. This gives us 2 weeks in between visits since we don't see the doc for another 4. Going this last 4 1/2 weeks between appts was too nerve wracking!
The only downer was when we went to radiology/US room to set up our appt, there was a girl crying...all by herself. The doctors and nurses were consoling her after what appeared to be her 20 week ultrasound and her baby had several markers for Downs Syndrome. I felt sooo bad. I'm so fortunate my husband is going to every single appt with me. My mom is on standby and eager to go to an appt as soon as his work schedule interferes - but doesn't look like that will happen until April. Amen!
