I salute you ladies that stuck it out and are breastfeeding. I threw in the towel last week...made it 5 1/2 days...my son had not stopped loosing weight, my ulcerative colitis flared up (from labor and exhaustion...just thankful it left me the hell alone throughout pregnancy) and I could not deal with feedings every 1 - 2 hours. Plus this is a minor thing...but I HATE wearing a bra at night and with leaky boobs, there was no way. God I just want my body back. I've lost most of my maternity weight already except for about 7 - 8 lbs but not healthy I think since it's friggin ulcerative colitis that is making me drop weight too. What a train wreck I feel like at times.
I love my son dearly but I am grasping to find our "new normal". I don't mean to wish away these precious weeks when he is so tiny and innocent, but God I can't wait til he's 5! Mornings are getting better but nights are still tiring and if I'm not up with him, tired as I am my mind still races through stupid stuff...like what I'm going to cook/make for the baptism over a month away and work - even though I'm not going back til September. Hubby is taking first shift even though he is back to work and my mom comes 2 - 3 nights a week from 8 - 12 which helps. Just hanging in there...wish all of you well.

I definitely understand. I think I might be throwing in the towel on breast feeding as well. I'm going to try just pumping and giving breast milk from a bottle. We'll see how that goes!
