My mood while writing this blog:
surviving

Hi all...hope you are doing well and I'm sure you are as busy as I am/have been. We've survived our first 3 weeks somehow. Gavin is now sleeping pretty consistently 4 hours, then 2 3-hour runs back to back to back at night. He's a good boy and up, changing his diaper, eating and back to sleep in about 45 minutes with his 2 - 3 night time feedings.

My damn ulcerative colitis is still bothering me but may be finally getting better. My mom has been a huge help thank God. My mother in law came 2x last week for 3 - 4 hours but since has been scarce or back to her usual pain in the ass self. Her and my retired father in law have nothing better to do than complain to me and my husband who I did and did not send hand made baby announcements to. I sent out friggin 50 of them and I'm out of patience, materials, money and time. For crying out loud...I am going to tell them off if they bring it up one more time and wring my father in laws neck for actually having the nerve to call my husband at work to bring it up. I've got no tolerance for BS now with my son here...taking care of him, then myself then my husband/home/finances. That's it.

Ok, gripe over. I talked to my good friend who was 6 weeks behind me - pregnant with her 4TH GIRL! ....she ended up delivering early (again) at 34 weeks. Baby is ok - although my friend who had suffered so many false positives on genetic screening/tests in the past, waived them this time...and her little girl has Downs Syndrome. She is in shock - not sorry she kept the pregnancy - but understandably upset and so worried about the degree her daughter will be effected physically and her husband and herself financially. Really helped put things into perspective for me the other night with Gavin threw up / spit up on me for the second time - hosed me really good - and my stupid Ulcerative Colitis - which had been quiet the whole pregnancy - is now flaring up, but not too bad and WILL be back in control someday soon - my poor friend will be dealing with a lifetime of challenges ahead of her and her daughter.

Counting my blessings (except where silly ridiculous inlaws are concerned...grrrr) and hope you are all doing well with your health and healthy little ones. Posting some pics of Gavin here in a minute too.

I'm sorry to hear about your friends baby. I know what you mean about putting things in perspective. I've been all upset that my son has baby acne! thank you for the reminder that I should be grateful for what i have...
