08-1-2009 - Welcome another preggers!

Well, it has happened. My bud-bud Angie is pregnant. She told me yesterday. We met for lunch at 11:30 and I didn't get back up to my desk until 2:35, when it was time for me to pack up for the commute home! I LOVE getting together with her, and it always goes way "over" so I don't know why I was shocked that it was 2:30 before she checked her watch!

Angie and Michael are going to make grrrrreat (Tony the Tiger) parents. They've already looked into (and decided?) delivering at the Madison Birth Center; can't say I'm not jealous! Angie's older sisters both have kids: one has three and the other has one... all girls. I'm kind of crossing my fingers for a boy for her (and moreso for her dad, Grampa D!).

It's just about the weirdest thing in the world, when a close friend becomes pregnant, after you have just gone through it. I was so excited and wanted to tell her EVERYTHING and give her all this advice. But there are certain things that need to be FELT and experienced, no "warnings" needed. And things that will surprise her just because she didn't know they could/would happen (like the day you can no longer see the toilet bowl under you whilst you make bizniss). I can't wait for her updates and confessions through this pregnancy. I'm bubbling ALMOST as much as if it were I who got the BFP! We're a lot alike, somewhat closeted granola-intellectual worriers with similar body types, so I kind of feel it will be like the outside-view of what I experienced in pregnancy! ADD onto this that her EDD is right around when Augustin was "due" (but he didn't "do due" very well!). I really think it's the BEST time to deliver and have maternity time! Walk off those pounds, enjoy the falling leaves, and it's long enough until the holidays that you don't have to share a particularly NEW kiddo with all those germie people!

So, congrats Angie and Michael. And welcome to pregnancy: where your whole world turns upside down daily, and you're thankful for every last drop!
