26-7-2009 - Done w/Co~sleeping!!

My mood while writing this blog:
......?

When Forest was a newborn, we did not cosleep. I was a new mom and scared bc of everything ppl say and things you read. Well eventually I got comfortable trusting my own judgements, and at around 8 weeks I started putting Forest in bed with us when he would wake up in the morning around 7 or 8, bc in my bed he would sleep til around 10. Well then i realized just how much I loved cuddling my little man next to me all night and waking up to his cute little face every morning. It felt so natural to me also and very motherly, like a mamma bird in her nest with her babies. I loved co-sleeping for the last 6 months, but now I think its time to stop. Forest will sleep ANYWHERE, he is such a good sleeper, but recently when sleeping with us he is starting to toss and turn and wake up more. I think he would sleep better on his own, and I want to move him to his room before he is old enough to get scared about it. So this is bittersweet for me, I love sleeping with him and I will miss it so much, but then again I miss my own bed and cuddling with my fiance...so tonight will be the first night in his crib in his room for all night (he naps in there now and sleeps there until we go to bed). I am excited to see how it goes, and Im hoping I'm strong enough to do it. I have tried before butI end up going to get him in the middle of the night :( BTW, he sleeps all night and has since he was 6 weeks old.

Oh I def will not co sleep...you need cuddle time and privacy w/your fiance and Im glad your little man is comfortable sleeping in his crib..lol

my TJ began to toss/turn/kick when he was about 7 months. He spent his 1st month in the hospital NICU. then came home for a few weeks, and then went in for open heart surgery. Came home for 3 more weeks, then was in from Thanksgiving to the end of Feb 09, so 3 months. He wasn't home til almost 6 months old and we coslept with him for a bit til he started with the kicking tossing and turning. lol. It wasn't tough to get him into his own bed. When this one is born we will Cosleep as well for a month or two.

Good Luck! We use to co-sleep with Alex, but he became so miserable in bed with us too - he would toss and turn, kick around and wake up all the time, but once we stuck him in his crib he sleeps like a champ! It was hard the first couple nights, I kept getting up and checking on him constantly, but within the week I adjusted. Its funny how things can be harder on the parent then the baby. =)
