26-7-2008 - I can't believe it's really going to happen

My mood while writing this blog: happy - disbelief

I've known that having this baby is inevitable - but somehow I'm sitting here and the realization that I am literally going to be holding my son any day now! As I lovingly look down at the final days of my tummy I can help but realize how overwhelming all of this is - and while I can't wait to meet him I know I'm going to miss feeling him snuggled inside of me. I've been reading all the women from my week report the birth of their babies and I'm trying very hard not to feel impatient, but it's hard. I'm trying to use this time to appreciate my final days of being pregnant for the very first time and reflect on the amazing journey that has been holding our growing child in the safety of my womb. What an amazing thing it is to be a woman, to be able to create and sustain life - I feel so blessed right now.

I am planning for a natural birth, but I have my doubts. What part of the entire process of labor was the most painful for you? By the way, your birthstory was amazing. I hope I am that focused and strong too.

We share a very similar outlook on this... Jealous and grateful at the same time. I've been feeling very "fertile" and like the goddess sculptures for fertility. Just so round and full... and I think it helps that I've finally given my body over completely to our little guy and have stopped getting upset that I've overshot my "goal pregnancy weight" that I set for myself. Happy buddha-belly to you and keep your chin up.

Wanna have a baby race??? Pretty sure you'll beat me...
