My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
I have been exclusively pumping since Aliyah was 4 weeks old. So for 5 months now. At first it was so hard and I thought I would never make it this far. But I was determined to keep at it and make it work. I really wish that I could have experienced that bond that I hear other moms talk about when they nurse their babies. But thats ok maybe with the next one. Actually pumping my breastmilk and feeding Aliyah with a bottle is more convienent for me. I went back to work full time when Aliyah was 6 weeks old. Dad helps at night feeding her (at 6 months she still isn't sleeping through the night.) Her big sisters get to feed her too. I only have to pump 4 maybe 5 times a day for 20 minutes and I have plenty of milk for her. The pumping is so easy now. Its just part of my routine. I plan on pumping until Aliyah is 1 year old.

Thursday, 22 Jan That sounds exactly like our situation! I'm trying to make it to one year as well...its tough sometimes but like you say, its just part of the routine at this point so I'm just kind of used to it. I do hope that breastfeeding works out with the next one...it'd be cool to be out and about and not have to worry about getting to my pump every four or so hours! And this weekend we'll be flying and it sure would be easier if I could breastfeed her rather than worrying about pumping on the plane, hee hee. I also feel bummed about missing out on that bond everyone talks about but at some point I just had to tell myself that the most important thing was that she is getting breastmilk :) Well, if ya ever need any support or encouraging words, I am soooo here for you because I truly know how tough it is to exclusively pump and how little most people understand it!
