26-5-2008 - Pregnant with my First

My mood while writing this blog: So proud I made it this far

I am still kind of in shock but my boyfriend and I are happy and excited for the new addition to our family.

I hope for a boy.

He wants a girl.

I havent had any morning sickness yet, which is good but I still feel like I'm not normal, ya know? My boobs are getting bigger but I'm not showing yet. I'm just sooo excited to see my baby!

I got to see the heart beat for the first time on Tuesday! I am so happy!!!! I get to get a full ultra sound in two weeks and I can't wait!

I got my first ultra sound and everything seems fine! I'm very happy. The heartbeat was around 180 and is the size over about a Gummy Bear... aww my gummy bear :-D

I had my three month doctors appointment the other day and eveything seems to be fine with the baby. The heart rate lowered to 150 so I'm still hoping for a boy. :-) I lost about 7 pounds which my doctor said is normal so I'm not worried. I am soo happy that my gummy bear is doing great!

Oh welcome to the world of motherhood. Motherhood the store that is. I am now wearing maternity clothes and its great! Very comfortable and not having to worry if it fits or not is also a plus. :-) I am now wearing my boyfriends shirts to sleep and maybe out to the store too... haha

I havent had any weird cravings or morning sickness yet. They say after the first trimester you wont have any morning sickness so I'm pretty sure I'm one of the lucky ones! :-) I do however get bloody noses quite often. If its not bleeding it sure is running. I dont have a cold or cough but I guess its just another joy of pregnancy.

My poor boobs are just going thru torture! They are constantly dry and kinda itch. Gross, I know, but hey we are all pregnant here. I dont know what to do. I heard about some creams to but on them but I dont know. I feel like my nipples are going to fall off!

2nd Trimester

I had my 4 month doctors appointment today and of course my mood swings were on the rise and me and patrick got into a fight just before the doctor checked the babys heart. My babys heart rate was high again 170 so I'm starting to remember that everything that I feel the baby feels and I really dont want anything to harm my baby.

The good news is I will soon find out the sex of my baby. I made my appointment for first thing tuesday morning on June 3rd. I absolutely cannot wait! In less than 2 weeks I will know if I'm having a boy or a girl!

May 29th at about 5:40am I woke up to go tinkle and when I climbed back into bed I felt the baby move!!! It lasted for about a minute. It felt like the baby was trying to escape, its the only way I can describe it. It was nice. I wish it wouldve lasted longer. Patrick is jealous and wish he couldve felt it too but when I put my hand over my stomach I didnt feel it. I want the baby to move again!!

Yaay I get to go shopping now!

I just got the call I've been waiting for! My doctor said my daughter is fine and she doesnt have any defects, which means no need for the amnio. :-) I can finally breath. I'm so relieved and knew everything was and is going to be fine. Thank you all for your prays and nice thoughts, it really means the world to me.

June 11th Patrick got to feel our daughter move! I'm happy he got to experience it. He was waiting a long time and now that we know for sure the baby is fine, its just the perfect day!

I'm 19 weeks and I feel my little daughter moving around everyday now. :-) and its very noticable, no more flutters! I'm so happy.

My belly is obvious that I'm pregnant now. Strangers are asking what I'm having and when I'm due. When I wear dresses it way more obvious and my belly looks huge!

3rd Trimester

I can't believe I am in my 3rd trimester already! This pregnancy has just been flying by, although there were times when it felt like the month wouldnt end. I'm so grateful that we made it this far and I thank God everyday that he brought me this little blessing.

I failed my 1 hour glucose test. My blood sugar was 134 and that is too high for a pregnant woman so I'm going back for my 3 hour glucose test. I'm very anxious and kind of scared because I've been hearing and reading a lot of horror stories online about fainting and throwing up during the 3 hour test. So I'm putting it off...

Well I finally went and did my 3 hour glucose test today. The taste was worse because I anticipated it to be horrible so of course I had a hard time swollowing it. It was very thick, like syrup, and you can feel the sugar just slowing sliding down your throat. It was so bad. I was hungry and wanted to eat but I knew I had a while to wait. It wasnt bad a first, but then I guess my sugar high faded and I was very drowsy. I felt like I was going to fall asleep at any second. I was ok with feeling tired instead of feeling like I was going to faint. The time went by fast. I'm a total bookworm so I brought books from home and the time went by. They took 7 tubes of blood total and pricked me 4 times. I havent go the results yet but I'm hoping I passed because I really cannot imagine being on a diet that I know won't allow me to lose weight... but I guess we'll see.

I PASSED! I found out today that I passed my 3 hour glucose test. I cant believe it! I have another doctors appointment next week so I will confirm the results then.

Yaay I am now 30 weeks! I can't believe it. I seems just like yesterday I was 8 weeks pregnant. But for the past month I have been having horrible gas! :-0 Its quite annoying and embarrassing. Its way worse when I wake up in the morning. I dont know why, but I guess this is just something I, and my poor boyfriend, will have to deal with.

I start school today. I decided to go full time online. It sucks. This is my first year at Arizona State and I loved it, way better than the community college, and now I am stuck at home. But its for the best. ASU is the biggest campus in the country and I am not trying to walk around in this 112 degree heat, plus I dont want to go into labor while in class! But I'm happy that I'm still going to school and on track for graduation.

So I had my follow up doctors appointment today and found out that the ultraound that was taken last week shows the my daughters belly is measuring small so I have to get another ultrasound in 3 weeks to make sure that she is growing and is on target for development. I am kinda scared but know that its good that my doctor is taking extra precautions to make sure my little one is perfect!

My daughters kicks are so intense now! Sometimes I can see her knees trying to stretch out straight on the sides of my belly. I lay on my left side and push her to see if she pushes back, and she does! its an amazing feeling. I'm so in love with her already.

Today I had my 3/4D ultrasound and it went pretty well. The baby was moving constantly and was so close to me that there wasnt any room to see her full head. She must want to come out now! She kept opening her mouth and her eyes throughout the entire time. Her hands never left her face and she would put her fist in her mouth and rub her eyes.

We even managed to get a picture of her pointing her finger. Its daddy's way of flipping the bird, like father like daughter. She has full head of hair, big oval eyes and long fingers. I cant wait to see her in my arms.

Her and her daddy are so much alike! She is now kicking and moving for him. He kinda gets grossed out about it but I know he is excited. We are still debating about the name but hopefully we can agree soon!!

So I'm now 36 weeks and I'm starting to feel back pains. As I look back at my pregnancy I see that it was pretty painless (for the most part.) My back aches sometimes and my stomach is the same way. I havent had braxton hicks, or at least I dont think I have, so I'm not really used to the pain. I had a doctors appointment and they found blood in my urine and told me I had a bladder infection. I didnt know why, but the doctor said it was because I held my pee for too long. This is a completely ridiculous remark considering pregnant woman pee like every second! But I'm now on antibiotics and hopefully it will clear in a week.

As you may have read in another blog, my daughter is shrinking. Her head is growing on target to her developement but her belly isnt growing at all. She is a few weeks behind but nothing too major. The last ultrasound I had said she was 4 pounds, and this was 2 weeks ago! I have an ultrasound on monday and if she is still small they will induce me so she can feed outside of the womb.

So I had my ultrasound and found out my baby is now over 7 pounds! WHAT!? How could she have gained so much in 2 weeks?? Beats me, but thats what the ultrasound says. I was a little spectical to believing it because the tech who did the ultrasound was very rude and didnt really know what the heck she was doing (in my opinion.) But I found out later after my doctor reviewed the results that my baby indeed is now growing and healthy! :-)

The only problem now is that she has a HUGE head! haha seriously, my little girl is already showing a full term week 40 size head. oh my! I guess my genes are really passing on because she is going to have a big head. :-D

I am now in my last week of this pregnancy and nothing has changed. I feel pretty normal, I sleep for at least 12 hours at a time with no problem, and I can eat anything I want without any sickness. Although my stomach is bigger than anything I've ever seen, I am now at 39 weeks strarting to drop. I have not dialated yet or lost my mucous plug so these last few days are going by very slow. Everyone said that I am predicted to have a Halloween baby but with Halloween only 2 days away, I dont see that happening. Hopefully she will arrive very unexpectedly and fast. I feel like I've been pregnant forever and I'm now used to feeling my bladder being crushed and not being able to breath when you lay on your back. These pregnancy feels are nothing to me anymore. Its going to be a big change when I have my daughter in my arms and no longer in my belly.

It is now a day before my due date and I feel like this baby is never going to come! I must be very comfortable because she loves it in there. She doesnt want to enter this crazy world, and I dont blame her, but I want to see her! I am am still eating spicy foods, walking up and down stairs and resorting to sex, but still nothing! Hopefully the next time I update I'll have my birth story.
