19-7-2009 - eight months

My mood while writing this blog: busy

Let me start off my saying I feel really bad that Mariah is half way to become 9 months and I am barely writing this blog. I don't want to start slacking on all the documenting of my first born child's life. (I'm the middle child and know exactly how that goes!)

Well development wise she is doing great! She can now stand unassisted for a few seconds and then falls down and laughs. She continues to just walk around by holding on to the end of the couch or bed. That's all that she is doing physically... oh wait! Ladies she can dance! We cannot figure out who taught her but whenever music comes on she dances! hehe If she is sitting down she will scoot her butt back and forth and if she is standing up she will bend her knees up and down. She is the cutest thing ever! Her fine motor skills are coming along great as well. She can pick up small objects, and I mean very small objects! We just got a new vaccuum cleaner because of this. There are certain things that she still can't grasp yet and boy does she get frustrated. She has a temper just like her mama! She will get red in the face and growl! haha. I don't pay her any mind when she gets this way but when she finally accomplishes what she was getting mad about I clap and say yaayyy!! :-D She loves the praise. She hasn't started clapping yet but I hope she starts soon.

As far as the potty training goes, she is doing very well. I figured by this time she would be completely potty trained but I have to admit that I am lazy! The amount of work it takes is more than just changing a diaper but I just saw a 2 year old getting his poopy diaper changed and it gave me more motivation ladies!! The good news is she doesn't wet her diaper in the night anymore. Which I heard is a sign that they are in control and ready to be potty trained. Everyone in my family that was giving crap before is now bragging about her to their friends.
Her first word is DaDa, wish it would've been Mama but hey... what can you do? She can even point him out in pictures! It's too weird! I'm very jealous.

The last thing I want to update on is her birthday party :-D Mariah's birthday is coming up and we are going all out! I just got in the mail a big cupcake pinata, a big banner that says happy birthday mariah, little napkins that have a cupcake with one candle and says happy first birthday, and an inflatable cupcake that says happy birthday on it! I'm so excited!!! We got a lady to do the face painting but i'm still trying to find someone to twist balloons.... I'll update more next month

OMG yay for the update on Mariah - HeHe!!!! So glad she is doing well and OMG for her birthday party - but what parents wouldnt go all out for a first birthday - loving the theme by the way and cant wait to see pictures when the time comes!
