06-5-2009 - 22 Week Anomaly Scan So happy and thankfulMy mood while writing this blog:
So happy and thankful

Hello lovely ladies!

As per the title, we went for our anomaly scan yesterday. I cannot believe how big and different the baby looks! And VERY happy to report that the sonographer says everything looks healthy and average (which is what we wanted to hear!) Pickle (that's what I call the baby) weighs 1 pound but she didn't measure top to toe or rump as she says babies are too curled up by this stage.. confused by that one but anyway... and she said that baby has big feet! My husband and I both have small to average feet for our heights (Daryl is 6'4" and a size 11 and I'm 5'8" and a size 5) Mind you when I told my mum she laughed and said I had big feet when I was born so it makes sense in a way! I've lost count of the times my dad has told me he was very worried about the size of my feet when I popped out!

We have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks, 19th May, as baby was laying in such a way that the sonographer couldn't get a good view of the heart to check it properly. She assured me that there was nothing to worry about though. Oh well - I don't mind that at all! It will be extra special to see baby on that day as it's also our second wedding anniversary!

We are off to Portugal for a few days the weekend before our anniversary to celebrate that, and also because it will be our last opportunity for some proper "us" time before Pickle arrives. Can't wait!

Was getting worried as since the first major kicks, I hadn't felt anymore for about a week, although I was feeling movements and wriggles and kept checking the heartbeat on the doppler! But over the last 4 days or so I have been getting some much more substantial beatings!! Yay!

Hope you are all well. Baby dust to all TTC and hugs to all the bumps!

Heidi x
