02-6-2009 - 24 Week Scan Happy-happy-joy-joy-happy-happy-joy!My mood while writing this blog:
Happy-happy-joy-joy-happy-happy-joy!

Hi Ladies!

Had another scan on 19th May at 24 weeks to check baby's heart as the sonographer couldn't get a good view at the 22 week visit due to the position the baby was laying in. All looks great! Yay!!!!!!!!! So relieved! What a fab second anniversary present!

However - she did say that baby is measuring bigger than average all over, particularly the head and feet :-* She reckons it's going to weigh AT LEAST 9lb by the time it arrives, maybe even 9.5lb! OH MY GOD....... How the hell am I going to squeeze that... out of there....! Ow! Hahahaha! Of course Daryl isn't worried! Needless to say, I am constantly doing my pelvic floor exercises since THAT little revelation! Oh and during the exact two weeks between those scans, Pickle had grown from 1lb to 1lb 10oz!!!! 10oz in two weeks??? REALLY???

We didn't find out the sex - still managed to resist... but the sonographer says she knows what it is, which doesn't seem fair! (frowning and pouting - ME?!) I am convinced, as I have been all through this pregnancy, that Pickle is going to be a boy... and given the fact that when he/she kicks it feels like a stick of dynamite going off in my belly I am not changing my mind! But I am happy either way, as is Daryl, and we have picked out a couple of names we really love for both sexes so it's just a waiting (and growing) game now.

I am experiencing lots of aches and pains! I didn't think this would happen for ages yet, but I suppose I am nearly at my third trimester now... My hips are the worst - they seize up and are so painful when I am sleeping that it's impossible to get a decent night's sleep... we even put a duvet under the base sheet on our bed for extra cushioning. My feet are like a pair of balloons! I keep getting acid rising into my throat (lovely) and my back and shoulders just ache! :-( Any advice greatfully received!

The worst thing was trying to get my wedding ring off - I didn't realise my fingers had swollen until it was nearly too late. I took several attempts over several days with iced water and soap but I got it off eventually! Not happy though - it hasn't come off my finger for 2 years. I bought a bigger cheapy ring to wear in the meantime to ward off all the hoards of men!!! NOT!

Will put up a belly photo soon - if I can fit it in the viewfinder! =)

Hope everyone is well, those bumps are swelling nicely and those of you hoping for your BFPs this month get them, I really do.

Lots of love and big squidgy hugs!

Heidi xxxx

ugh, i'm with you on the heartburn and the achy back, and i swear my ankles are disappearing (hello, cankles)... but just a few more months! using a body pillow at night has helped with achy hips (and legs, strangely) when i try to sleep - but honestly, i still wouldn't say i'm comfortable... we're in the home stretch, though! hooray! :)

Everything hurts me too! A snoozer pillow works wonders. I also have horrible heartburn! For the all I can say is get a Costco sized tums and drink a glass of milk every morning. By the way...i commend u for holding out on finding out the babies sex...:)
