| 28-10-2008 - 23 week 4 days scan |  My mood while writing this blog:delighted |
I write this blog almost a week after the event! Things have been pretty hectic with builders in the house, hubby being away and mum coming from overseas to help me stay sane and sensible! Builders are out, house is back in order and mum is on a plane so here I am finally!
Our 23 week scan took place last Thursday, on the 23rd October. I'm delighted to say that it went great. The sonographer was able to get a really good look at the heart this time and was able to give the all clear. My mum was with me and absolutely loved seeing her first grandchild.. she was a midwife many years ago and is now a qualified nurse so it all came very naturally to her. I was hoping baby would be active for grandma's sake but s/he was pretty calm... typical!!
Some of you may recall that hubby and I have gone to and fro about finding out the gender of this little one... I've left the final decision to hubby but he has kept changing his mind! We agreed that as he was going to miss this latest scan I would ask the sonographer to write the gender on a piece of paper. That's what I did and it is now in a sealed envelope! Mum and I looked away as the sonographer had a look and she seemed pretty certain she knew what it was! That has made my mum convinced it's a little boy but I'm still thinking girl! Not sure if hubby and I will decide to have a peak in the envelope but at least this way we have the option as this was most likely our last scan!
I can't believe I'm 24 weeks as I write this.. time really is flying by! Hubby has been away for 3 weeks and is due home this friday... I just can't wait and boy is he going to be surprised when he sees how much I have grown!!
I haven't been able to scan in the latest picture of bub as our home office has been totally moved around. Will do that soon! I have added a couple of pics of my belly for those who are interested!!

oh i'm soo excited for you! and your right to think it still could be a girl. just because she is certain, means nothing. Aubrey made it very certain she was a girl. she was practically sitting on the camera, per say. lol.
i feel like i'm preggers all over again, following yours. I cant wait to see this little baby when it's here! And let me tell you, it's gets even more fun after they are here. Aubrey is such a little ham.

well first of all, I love your new profile pic! You look great....
You two have so much self control with the gender thing. I'd be loosing sleep! Be sure to let us know if you decide to peak. I agree with your mom. It's probably a boy if she was certain.

Wow! Three weeks?! I don't know how you survived it. Zach was gone for 11 days and I thought I would surely wilt away to nothing. :)
It was terrible!
He'll probably be amazed at how much you've grown!!
How exciting that you had the tech write the sex down! Maybe you should save it for a special occasion.... do you have an anniversary coming up?
Well.... my little one needs to eat.... I haven't eaten for a few hours and he's bouncing around like crazy!
