21-5-2009 - Shower and 34 1/2 weeks update Getting nervous! My mood while writing this blog:
Getting nervous!

Well, I'm almost 35 weeks and every day brings a new level of anxiousness! The baby has been moving quite a bit in recent weeks. I've been feeling little elbows or knees and a little bum or back every now and then! It's been fun to feel the little lumps and bumps with my hands, too. This week he has been a little more quiet. I'm guessing he is moving into position and is also running out of room to stretch out!

Yesterday I had some major pain in my lower abdomen and last night I woke up several times with the same shooting pain. I keep thinking I have plenty of time to get things wrapped up, go to the store to pick up some odds and ends and do some things around the house. But, after last night, I think I had better get some of those things on my "to-do" list done sooner than later!

I have some lovely stretch marks on both sides of my hips and have just started noticing small marks on my lower belly and inner legs. Heartburn has also been an issue, but Zantac 150 has been a lifesaver!

The baby's room is pretty much done. I would love to get some decorations up on the walls, but that may have to wait a little longer. At least it is painted and the furniture is there. He has received a lot of hand-me-down clothes from his cousin and several borrowed outfits from my co-worker. Everything is finally washed, organized and ready to be used!

My sisters hosted a shower for me a couple of weeks ago and we had a great turnout! We received a lot of great stuff and I was pleased so many people showed up! It was a busy weekend with graduations in town, so it was nice of everyone to make it. Some things we received include a Bumbo seat and tray, Pack 'n Play, clothes, Avent bottle sets, a black Moby wrap carrier, baby bathtub, baby blankets, a swing, and a travel system. We are so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends to help us out!

I had a moment of sadness yesterday when I thought about how this road is almost over and I will never be pregnant with this same baby again. The time has truly gone by fast and it's hard to believe May is almost over. I have been so lucky to have had such a great pregnancy. I've had very few reasons to complain and I hope the end result is a happy, healthy boy! In just a few weeks our lives will be changed forever and I will be a mom to someone for the rest of my life! Ready or not....! But, I think we're ready.

Ahhhh I couldn't agree more! I have to admit that I have had my moments where I am over being pregnant, but lately... I'm a bit saddened by the fact I wont have my baby boy with me every second of the day. It's such an awesome thing to experience, your never alone!

I really like your post as you will miss those bumps and kicks but you'll have an even greater blessing to cherish.

Too true about the bumps and elbows and such...I am not very good at guess the body part myself...but it's neat! It's true we are in "wrap up" mode - not much time left and it's not like we are going to get more comfortable or have more energy. I'll be thinking of you as I try to get the last of my odds and ends here - June 1st is my self imposed date to have it all ready. Sigh. Wish me luck. Baby dust to you too!

Hey there, Loved your post, but trust me when you get to week 39 *(Go check out my week)* we are all complaining and CAN'T WAIT TO GET THESE BABIES out of us!!! LOL... I am SO uncomfortable, and I am actually going to buy some castor oil tonight on my way home! Maybe tonight will be the night... Hope all goes well and it is never to late to pack that bag, there are things that I am still adding to it and I only have a couple more days to go!!!!
