22-6-2009 - 39 Week Appointment

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Well, today I had my 39 week appointment. I'm still around 1.5 cm dilated and around 40% effaced. The doctor said we'll schedule one more appointment and if nothing has changed we'll probably schedule an induction to get things moving. Sounds like that will happen before the end of next week! Yikes!

I haven't had any signs of anything happening. I've been having regular Braxton Hicks contractions, but have been for months now. Last Tuesday I thought I was starting to have a few mild contractions in the morning while I was at work. But, they stopped around noon and I haven't had any since then.

My exam today was uncomfortable. The doctor definitely stirred some things up, so maybe something will happen sooner than later as a result. He said to be prepared if my water breaks, because the baby is not down low enough to stem the flow of water and it will be more than noticeable! I just hope it doesn't happen while I'm at work!

It won't be much longer, either way! I think we'll have a baby before next weekend! How crazy is THAT!?!
