23-6-2009 - LABOR PAINS AFTER MEMBRANE STRIPPING!!

My mood while writing this blog:
CONTRACTING!!

OK, so i went for my 37 week appointment and the doctor did another ultrasound and they said the baby was at the weight and length as well as all the other measurements of a 39 week pregnancy.. Which could be true or close because i never had a cycle after the miscarriage with the twins in september... So she desided to check me and i was ar 2cm and she did alittle membrane stripping to see if it would get things going.. So after coming home and having cramps and sharp pains in my pelvis as well as steady contractions i desided to pack my bags and get ready because I was sure she was coming... I even had sex with my hubby just incase it was our last huraaaahh for 6 weeks ( well plus it helps bring on more contraction) well ohhhhh man did it......We went to bed at 1am to get some rest just incase this was gonna be full blown labor... Well at 4 am i woke up with bad bad... craps and contractions... worse then any i have had with this pregancy... I then started to have the poops from all the contracting... Well i woke hubby up and told him i think it was gonna be it so i wanted to try to get more sleep so i was rested for pushing... so i took a tylenol pm and it didnt seem to help the pain but it did make me go to sleep for a few hours but i figured if it was labor starting i should rest and nothing would stop it anyways.... Well .... Wrong.... I woke up at 8am this morning with my hubby standing over me saying I am going to work, please call me if you need me or if anything happends...... I was sooooooo mad that i went to bed!! I wish i would have stayed up and walked and kept it going... They say after you get your membranes stripped they say that it can take up to 48 hours to make labor happen but i was SO SURE it was here last night... So today I have had some small contractions on and off and i have totally malested my husband today.. 3 times already trying to get things going again... I am starting to have some small ones right now that seem to get stronger and stronger... Any suggestions? I had my membranes stripped with my other daughter and I went into labor I believe within the 48 hours? ANY one else have any thing like this happen? Any suggestions on how to get this going again? I am ready and the doctor says the baby is too!! Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jen

Raspberry leaf tea, fresh pineapple, strong curries and loads of sex and walking...also try jumping on the bed a little! Lol.

Sorry hun, I was a c-section gal (not by choice) but I so send labor dust your way and hope you have that baby in the next day or so - can't wait to see pics!

I had my membranes done twice with my 2nd born and still had to be induced with Pitocin a day after her due date. Have you tried not drinking as much as you normally do? Starting to become dehydrated, walking, and sex I have been told by my doctor.
