17-3-2009 - Bad news

My mood while writing this blog: ok

Well the doctor says i have hypertension and will need to go on medication to control my bp, she has faxed my info to a clinic in toowoomba (nearest city from here) to get there opinion as she is not sure what medication to put me on and she wants to be sure. I may have to go there for future antenatal appointments and to have baby which will be difficult but we will see what they say. I have to get a bp machine to monitor it myself so i have 1 ordered from the chemist, its on special and they ran out of stock but it should be here by friday. There was also some protein in my urine but not alot.

My mum just text me and said that my sister is still in her labour room as she might need a blood transfusion and they dont want her moving around yet as she is still losing alot of blood, my mums going to let me know what happens. They might be calling him Reece they havent fully decided yet with all thats happening. Im just hoping and praying that she will be ok. :(

I am so sorry you are having to deal with so much at once. I will be thinking of you and your sister. Just remember lots of women deal with hypertension and have perfectly healthy babies at the end of it. Just do what needs to be done and stay as positive as you can.

Aww honey, just stay relaxed, stay away from salt (with in reason, as you need some, but not too much!)

So sorry to hear about you and your sister! Geez...... Hang in there, I too had very high blood pressure, I actually got eclampsia... Its no joke, rest as much as you can and stay away from salt, and please, please, please, take those B.P readings daily!! Youre both in my prayers

Sorry to hear about the bad news you in your family will be in my prayers. I had hypertention with my 1st from 35 wks on but only when I saw the doctor and I never had protine in my urine but I went to labor n delevery 7 times from the Dr. office cause of my BP and everytime I went there, I'd be there for 2 hr or so each time and my BP would be normal the whole time lol! Very frusterating at the time all the nurses said my baby had white coat syndrome cause every tim I saw the doc my Bp went high so they said my baby just don't like the Doctor lol! I did end up having my son two weeks early cause of Bp and eventually got protine in my urine at the end. Hope this offers some encouragement that things will be alright and some how I believe God works it all out.

The doctor said I hae hypertension too. I am on labetalol. Its been working out pretty good. I hope your sister is ok. I will be praying for you.

When I was pregnant with PIH they put me on a bp medicine called labetalol. I hope the medication works for you.
