Hello ladies, time is passing so fast and i cant believe that my little man was 4 weeks old yesterday. The boys have been on school holidays for the last 2 weeks, they go back monday so i will have to get into a routine again except with a newborn it will be a little harder but i will manage. Jensen is growing so much and hes not so little anymore. Im breastfeeding him until his late night feed then he has formula until around 6am. My first child was born by c-section and i had alot of trouble with breastfeeding and he wasnt latching so after 4 days i put him on the bottle and then i never tried with the others but this time i decided to give it a go and Jensen wouldnt latch so the midwives expressed it for me at first but after 2 days in hospital and many lessons he still wasnt latching so i decided to put him on the bottle so they would let me go home, a few days later i brought a breast pump and i decided that i would keep trying but express until i got the hang of it so now at 4 weeks im not expressing anymore and im feeding him except for 2 to 3 feeds during the night some of which hubby does. I have found after bottle feeding 4 babies that breastfeeding although its hard to start with it is so much easier and jensen is a much happier baby, my last 2 were lactose intolerant especially jordan so it was hard finding the right formula, jensen has also had trouble even though hes only having 2 to 3 bottles of formula, so ive put him on lactose free formula and hes not pooing as much and its not runny anymore (we went through 108 newborn nappies is about 9 days) He doesnt vomit as much as they do with formula. Everyone didnt think i would stick with it and go back to formula but i have and im so glad i did. Breastfeeding is not as easy as some women make it look and i never thought i would be able to. I have had so many comments from people on having another boy most of them have been surprised but happy for us ive had a few that wernt so nice, 1 lady said 'Oh you poor girl you had another boy' she said that twice and i told her that it doesnt bother me and how could i not love such a beautiful boy. I dont feel upset or sad at all there is still a part of me that would love to have a girl but im happy with my boys i just get so sick of peoples bad reactions. Anyway thanks for reading ladies.

Im so glad that your lil man is doing great!! Breastfeeding is not easy . . . no one ever told me that either. I applaud you!! I need more estrogen in my life . . . I can't imagine how life is at your house!!

That's very encouraging to read about your breastfeeding triumph! My son is a month old today, and he is just now learning to latch appropriately...and I'm still learning to get him to latch and stay calm while doing it. I've been pumping since he was a few days old and bottle feeding the expressed milk, There were two weeks that I had to feed him formula bc I had to be on strong antibiotics (csection got infected)...I didn't think he would ever go back to the breast. Plus formula sucks...he had constipation and spit up issues, not fun! He went back to breastmilk without a problem, but going from the bottle back to the breast I thought was impossible. Now he is getting good latches, but I'm so used to bottle feeding that sometimes I don't try to get him to breastfeed because it seems easier to just grab a bottle; I need to remember to use the relaxation techinques that I learned/used in labor so that I won't stress too quickly and give up on trying to latch.

God gives you what is best for you and your family. So boys are best for yours! I too formula fed my others do to allergies but I have finally been able to bf. It was very hard in the begining but about 6wks everything started to go great. Great job at sticking with it. Even though my kids had food allergies and special formula was best for them I still feel guilt especially now that I know how wonderful it is to bf. I am sad I missed that with them. Be proud of yourself for sticking with I know it is not easy!

hi deAR DONT TAKE CARE OF WHAT PEOPLE SAY .... I AM A MUM OF THREE BOYS AND PEOPLE DO MAKE BAD REACTIONS WHEN THEY SEE ME OUT WITH MY THREE BOYS.. SOMETIMES IT HURTS AND FEEL VERY SAD BECAUSE THEY TELL ME THAT I WILL NEVER HAVE A BABY GIRL... ONLY JESUS KNOWS THAT ... I AM SURE THAT ONE DAY I WILL TRY FOR ANOTHER ONE AND HOPE THAT I WILL HAVE A HEALTHY BABY GIRL

Hi, so glad to hear all is well. I had I couple of friends who had latching problems as well and then they both discovered that when they are using nipple shields that their babies had no problem latching on the breast. I don't know if you tried it yet but if you didn't I think you should give it a go. I am dissapointed that someone could give you a comment like that. I have one boy and would like my next child to be a girl too but I just have the gut feeling that all my children wil be boys. Planning to have three. Well, we will see how it goes. I love my boy to bits and I am sure I will love the others the same way just like you do. Have a great day and I hope you get the routine worked out quickly. ;-)

glad to hear all is going soo well! i can't believe he's 4 weeks old already!!!!i am very interested in how the breastfeeding is going as i have thought about breastfeeding during the day and bottle feeding at night so i can get a little extra sleep. how do you do it without your supply dropping? are you having to express aswell to keep your supply up? it's mainly the rollover feed around 10pm i want to bottle feed so i can go to bed at 7pm with the kids and get up for the wee hrs of the morning feed feeling partly rested. my last 2 sons didn't sleep through till atleast 9mths old and the sleep deprivation was the worst. i was such a zombie i don't know how i coped day to day. if i could get just a little extra sleep that would make a world of difference.

congrats on your beautiful boy but I do understand the wanting a dd my heart yearns for one and till someone has been in the situation of having all of one sex they dont understand......My comment when other say oh poor you another boy your going to be so busy is I would have been just as busy with a girl ,,plus I dont have to deal with the hormones lol!!
