| 18-11-2010 - Saying goodbye to my babies | My mood while writing this blog:excited/sad |
I'm taking the plunge girls! I am packing away my sweats and spit up tops and saying goodbye to my sahm status.
*****************YIKES!!!!*****************
Before my crazy days I ws in the military (army) for 10 years. I litteraly traveled the world through my deployments to Kosovo and Iraq. I also visited Macedonia, Bulgaria, Qatar, Germany and was even bessed to be ststioned in Hawaii for my last 4 years of service. That's where I met my hubby, had Yvette and conceived Sophia. I got out of the military litteraly a month before giving birth to Yvette. I had a fufilling 10 years in my service, and I wanted to be a civilian and focus on my family. I couldn't run the risk of deploying again and leaving them. My husband is also in the army. It was really important to me that my girls have stability in case hubbs should deploy. I like supporting my husband, and it's even easier as a civilian. I feel like I bring some "normalcy" to our home life.
So I have been home for 18 months now, crazy! I almost feel like I forgot how to be me, lol. I have been hired to work for the army, sweet. It's always better to work FOR the army, not IN the army. As a civilian, you get respect and can not be fired easily as you are part of a union. I will be working at the army hospital just down the street from where we live. My husband is excited because we will have more income, and I'm excited because I get to be ME and have s social life again. I start this Monday, the 22nd.
Ugh, but my heart is SO torn. I have to say goodbye to my babies and trust their care to someone else. My gosh, some days I have wanted to pull my hair out, but so many of them were full of walks to the park, sticky kisses and drool covered toothless smiles. I am so blessed to have been able to have this time off with my girls, and I am grateful to my husband for accaepting the pay cut and allowing me to do it. Oh I'm going to miss them so much, but it's time for the next phase in my families life. Here's to the future.... (cheers).
Here's some pics from my time in the army, enjoy! The first 3 are from Iraq and the last is from Hawaii.
