| 18-6-2009 - 2nd postpartum week | My mood while writing this blog:sleepy, sore |
Hi girls!! Wow, so many of you are having your babies, that is so exciting!!!! Well, I have made it past the second week. I notice that new moms post about their babies and how in love they are, but I like to post about the REAL stuff (and yes, I'm in love too ;) The first week was all about dealing with those post partum contractions and the great anticipation of my milk coming in. The second week was filled with crazy emotions and the effects of no sleep hitting me. At any time I could have had any of the following and I think I could have been ok...
1. a few hours of uninterupted sleep
2. a nice long hot bath
3. a good piece of dark chocolate
4 .a really good orgasm (yeah right, not for a long time!)
5. a 2 hour full body massage (is that asking too much?)
6. a good ol' full out cry for no reason (probably what I needed the most)
So none of these happened and somehow I managed to survive. I am now feeling sharp pain inside my whowho, she must have tore me a little on the inside. My ob says I'm just now feeling it because the numbness has worn off down there. And yay, somehow I now have hemroids? WTH? Um I would have expected this right after delivery, not a week later.
And yes, the affects of no sleep are slowly catching on. It's like you never fully recharge. This girl nurses every 2 hours, day or night. I swear I feel like I belong in some tribe, I always have my boobs out! I could spin in circles and Yvette would be hanging onto my boob with full force spinning around with me, LOL.
Oh, I have 1 major complaint...when Yvette was 9 days old my husband went out and bought a puppy. Are you kidding me??? It's a 2 month old german shepard, that we have been saving up for, but bad timing!! He is back at work already and while I'm a zombie trying to nurse/sleep, there is this puppy down stairs crying, no, screaming for dear life! I'm still mentaly kicking my husbands ass for this one.
Well girls, that's about it for now. Congrats to all the new momies out there, and for those of you who stilll have some time to go, enjoy it before you get too uncomfortable or before it's over:)
xoxo, Jamie
