| 12-9-2009 - Update on Yvette | My mood while writing this blog:so tired |

Thank you for all of your sweet responces. Ah, this sucks. I hate being in the hospital. OK, so I thought she had a uti and she ended up being admitted. The docs diagnosed her as "failure to thrive" and chronic constipation. Failure to thrive? What a slap in the face after all the hard work I did getting my milk back!! But I guess you can't argue when the scales show her loosing weight. She weighs 8 pounds (3 months old) and should be around 11-12.
So she was admitted and day 1 consisted of tons of doctors, x-rays, labs, a catheter and an iv. Day 2 she had more doctors a pediatric gastrointerologist (sp?) and a pediatric surgeon. The took samples of her intestines to look for some disease. During the procedure a doc came in our room and told me that the procedure was over but that she was bleeding from it. He said they were applying pressure. Ah that sucked! It seemed like hours passed untill the doc came back in and said it stopped and they were cleaning her up. I was so happy when they brought her back to the room.
That night they had all kinds of wires hooked up to her to watch her vitals. The damn code blue alarm kept sounding saying her vitals were criticaly low. I would watch the numbers on the monitor and poke her to make her move or anything. I kept panicking wondering why someone wasn't coming in. Man that was a long night. Plus every 30 min they were checking her diaper to see if blood was coming out of her butt.
Day 3 all of her docs, gi and surgeon checked up on her. Her vitals were good so they agreed to let us go home. By Tuesday the results from the biopsy will be in, letting us know if she needs to have an opperation. They would cut out the bad nerves, stretch the intestines and re-sew.
On Monday we have to go to the pediatric clinic to have some salt sweat test done to see if she has Cystic Fibrosis and a check up with more docs. Right now I'm glad to have a shower and to have her sleeping.
I quickly glanced at my messages before writing this and noticed beth Silva had her baby. Congrats on your little boy, love ya girl. And if Minkymoo and blessedbabytobe had your babies then congrats to you too!!
Once again thank you for all of your warm thoughts, I'll keep updating
ps~no, I did not retest yet. My hubby did look for some at a gas station but they were out, plus my mind has been on Yvette. As soon as I get out I swear i'll get one :)
xoxo Jamie
