My mood while writing this blog: Happy happy happy |
Hey girls! I have a normal baby, yay! All of her tests came back normal, no surgery is needed. I started supplimenting her diet with formula (because of the "failure to thrive" thing) and now she is a completly different baby. She is happy, has gained weight and POOPS! This is the first time since she was born, and she's almost 4 months old. It was funny because we were at the hospital yesterday when she pooped and I was like "omg, she pooped, how do I change a poopy diaper again?" They wanted to do a few more tests on her, but since she's pooping I think it's unnecessary now. The docs think her body was having a hard time absorbing all of the nutrients from my milk. That sounds crazy to me but, all that matters is that she won't be in the hospital anymore. Thanks for all of your prayers and love!!!!
ps~morning sickness sucks, lol
xoxo Jamie

Friday, 18 Sep wow - that's so counterintuitive! but, i have heard of some breast fed babies only pooping once in a while so i guess yvette was an extreme version of that =( so glad to hear she's "thriving"!!! it also might ease the stress on your body - producing milk AND creating a life at the same time is probably really exhausting for you in many different ways...so, if formula can help you with that and make your daughter that much happier - that's a great thing =) good luck with the new pregnancy!!! silvertree -

Wednesday, 16 Sep OMG! That is just great to hear that she is fine and will be fine... Congrats on having a happy healthy baby once again... I may have to check into supplementing with mine because she seems to go for a day or 2 before she poops and then she'll poop alot that day then it'll be one or 2 more days before she poops again.. but I am happy for you and your sweet baby... sarahann -

Wednesday, 16 Sep Hooray for baby poop!! That is amazing that just switching to formula changed her bowels?? I had a friend who breast feed, and her baby was the same way (not as bad as Yvette) and she had to switch to soy only... strange... boob is supposed to be best. Did the doctors ever say why she was having such a hard time? AlisaB99 -
Wednesday, 16 Sep Oh, I am so thankful for this! What great news! I know the whole breastmilk intolerance thing sounds funny to people, but neither one of my children could handle my milk. I had my son on soy formula and my daughter is now on good start protect plus formula. I don't remember exactly what was wrong with my son, and neither one of them were in failure to thrive, but my daughter was super gassy and was starting to have constipation troubles. Definitely not near as bad as Yvette by any means, but small troubles anyway. I switched her to full time formula at around 6 weeks old and she has been doing great! Congrats on both the health of Yvette, and the news of the new pregnancy. Hang in there, the morning sickness will pass! lol Take care hun. haileys mommy -
