14-7-2009 - 3D/4D Ultrasound

My mood while writing this blog:
Confused

We have a lady around here that does the 3D/4D Ultrasound. We made an appointment to see her this weekend to get them done. I will be 24 weeks. Well, my cousin had hers done at 28 weeks and her suggestion is to at least wait until then to get them done cause the baby will be fatter. I don't know what we should do. We are very excited and wanna go saturday so badbut I don't wanna get there and it will be a waste cause the baby still isnt fat enough.
I have googled it and seen at 24 weeks you can see the baby good. BUT I am not showing yet so I know the baby isnt that fat yet LOL.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I do it now or wait those 4 looonnnnggg weeks? LOL

I have always wanted to do one but I never did with my son because I had to have so many ultrasounds anyway:) Good luck though - how fun!

I guess imma go ahead and do it. The second time around it's cheaper. So if we wanna get some more done when she's fatter, we'll go again around 30 weeks or so. I'm just so anxious and excited! :-) Thank u everyone for ya's inputs!!

My husband and I are going on Aug. 1st and I'll be 27wks and 4dys. They do say the best time is between 26 and 30 weeks. The baby really starts to pile on the fat after 26 weeks and you can see more of what they'll look like. Anything after 30 weeks there isn't much room in there and their face can look squished. Depending on how much money it is I'd wait to get a better shot, but I know how exciting it is!!

my doctor just told me if I was going to do to wait until after 20 weeks and by 24-25 the face was all laid out and you can really tell who the baby is going to look like! I think 24 weeks would be fine....but I know they are expensive and like you said you don't want to be disappointed...but I would be really anxious too

They suggest you want until 28 weeks to see the baby the best. I had one done at 16 weeks (you can look at my pictures) and I will have another done at 28 weeks.

My doctor offers 3d/4d ultrasounds but they tell me to wait until 28 weeks to see your little one better:) hope this helps

I think if u want to go then go. Its your baby and your pregnancy, if someone else wants to wait until 28 weeks then that's their choice, but don't let what other people think influence u. Go 4 it girl and let us know how it goes when u do!! Good luck!!
