My mood while writing this blog: tired |
Well yesterday I called the doctor because I just felt like something was different, I couldn't tell if it was good or bad different I just knew that I didn't feel right.
So when I went in and they took my blood pressure it was through the roof! 139/97! I was shocked..the doctor came in and asked me if I had any complaints, I told him that my belly felt different to me and that I felt like my heart was beating out of my chest and I couldn't catch my breath. He asked me what I had done during the day and I told him I had done nothing but lay around the house. He check me and I'm not dialated at all, Kinley is still breech and not dropped at all. I was disappointed because I soooo thought that she had turned! :( The doc looked at me and said "The baby is fine, I'm worried about you..let's do a non-stress test" So they took me in and hooked me up and my heart rate was 156!! The baby's was 160..I've never seen my heart rate be this high! He came in and listened to my lungs and shut the door and sat down..I knew something bad was coming. He told me that he was going to send me over to the ER..he thought that I could have some blood clots in my lungs, my legs were swollen extremely bad and he said that my heart rate, breathing, and swelling all point to either blood clots in the lungs or a weak heart. NO ONE wants to hear this, so I completely broke down in tears, especially because I was alone, I told my husband that this visit was going to be easy and that he shouldn't take off work to come!
So they rush me over to the ER and didn't even check me in, they wheeled me back to a room basically running! It was all just freaking me out. As soon as they got me in the table they started taking my shirt and bra off and hooking all of these plugs up to me...heart monitors, EKG sticky things, IV, they came in to draw like 6 tubes of blood...minutes later they came in to do a chest x-ray and I told the nurse NO, she thought I was crazy I think...but she was trying to get me sign some form saying that I consented even with all the risks of exposing the baby to radiation. I told her I wasn't doing it and she was like well your baby will probably be fine, I said "probably doesn't cut it sweetie, I'll talk to a doctor before I do anything" she just gave me a dirty look and went to get the doctor. The consent form she wanted me to sign said things like-- risk of miscarriage, metal disabilities, deformations...etc! I wasn't just gonna sign it without talking to a doctor. So finally my OB came in and assured me that the baby would be fine...I got the chest x-ray. Awhile later my OB came in and said that the test results showed high possibility of blood clots in my lungs, so I had to get a CT scan..gosh that was horrible, you have to lie flat on your back with big heavy things over your belly to protect the baby and hold your breath. I already couldn't breathe, then they put the dye in and I started getting sick everywhere. I was miserable. My heart rate stayed in the high 130s-140s until about 11 pm last night..I went into the ER at 4:30. The CT scan came back normal, thank goodness..NO CLOTS!!! :)
They finally took me to a room in the maternity ward and hooked me up to some more stuff...they said that I was extremely dehydrated which caused me to be short of breath, which caused my heart rate to raise..I also had very low potassium levels, sugar and sodium levels were all completely off...So I had lots of fluids run through me and my heart rate finally got down to about 115 this morning...still very high I guess from what the doctors say it should be under 100. It wasn't like I was running marathons, I was laying in bed! They also found that I'm anemic and they've given me meds for this
All in all, everything will be okay..I'm on bed rest for the remainder of the week and I go back to my OB on Thursday to talk about c-sections and for him to see how my heart is doing. Gosh that was so scary, just the pase that everyone was going made me stress out...it was like they were going 90 mph like I was dying or something!
I'm so glad to be home and resting now, thank the Lord for my amazing husband for sticking by my side all night...poor man got no sleep...he just sat in the chair by my bed (even though there was a bed for him) and rubbed my back all night and held my hand while I slept. Such an amazing man! :) We're so thankful that everything with Kinley is doing wonderful...she's always my biggest concern, I don't care if everything came back saying there was all kinds of things wrong with me, as long as she's okay that's all that matters!
I'll update again soon, I'm sure I'll be on alot since I'm on bedrest!
