The plan is to wait as long as possible to go to the hospital. I would prefer to be in the comfort of my own home walking, relaxing, taking a shower...whatever I want to do. I would hate to go in to L/D just to be sent home.

Once I get to the hospital I would like to be checked and monitored on a regular basis. Once I know I am staying I will have my husband call everyone on the list to let them know the baby is coming. I would like to know everything in detail that is going on. I will let them break my water and give me meds to help labor along, only if need be. I’m not sure if I will ask for an epidural yet but more than likely I will receive one. I would prefer an episiotomy to a tear. I absolutely do not want anyone holding my legs back; personally I think I can push better using stirrups. I don’t want any one in the room while I am pushing except for my husband and I (well of course the doctor/staff) I don’t wish to have either of us see the baby actually coming out. Once the baby is out I would like my husband to cut the cord, and for them to just hold the baby up so we can see him. I dont no not want them to lay him on me. Once they take him, clean him off and wrap him up I would love to hold him.

Once everything is cleaned up a bit, I would love for everyone to come in and spend time with us and the baby. I would prefer the baby to room in with us and hopefully we can all go home the next day and start our new life together.
