21-8-2008 - Shopping for baby... TiredMy mood while writing this blog:
Tired

Has anyone done their baby shopping yet? I don't know if it's just me, but every time I try and pick stuff out (big stuff, like furniture, stroller, car seat, etc) I get totally confused with all the options, stressed out and then don't get anything! My hubby has been bugging me for a while about picking out baby room furniture, so we finally sad "Today we will just DO IT". Well, I got it done, but it took me forever! and I spent WAY more then I intended. We are members at Direct Buy, so that's where we get most of our big ticket stuff. We got stuff from Stanley Furniture called 4 Seasons in Expresso colour. It's beautiful (sleigh crib, dresser with change table and a book shelf) but we spent $2600! It's almost more then the master bedroom furniture! Then I've been shopping online for stroller and carseats, but every time I find one that I like I read reviews and people don't like them for whatever reason! I was going to get Peg Perego stuff (Uno stroller in "Black Bubbles" with matching carseat) but reviews were not so great. So now I'm looking at Graco stuff, which is cheaper and generally has better reviews but heaviers than Peg Perego and since I'm a weakling I'm not sure if that should make a difference to me or not.....

See what I mean? Too many options! High chairs and bouncers and bottles and nipple sizes and wipe warmers and bathtubs! I almost want to give someone money and just say "Go to the store and get me everything that I will need"!

Ok, so that's my meltdown for the day. I guess I'll just get back at it tomorrow and try to figure it out!

By the way, have been getting nosebleeds...at least one bad one every morning. I've heard this is normal, is anyone else getting these?

Hey girlie, I would ask about the nose bleeds..If you are getting one every morning..I don't know..just ask the doc about that.

So you know what I found kinda helped me out with choose carseats, strollers etc? I ended up on consumer reports website, and found the safest items. That really really narrowed it down for me. The same thing was happening to me; I would like something, and then read parents reviews and they would be all bad; / So choosing the safest products really helped me choose what was best for baby.

I completely agree!!! I am totally confused! Especially with car seats and strollers... I don't understand if most all car seats/strollers work for most all sizes of babies/toddlers (if that makes any sense)... I also don't like a lot of the fabric that car seats and strollers are typically lined with... I don't like plaid prints or prints with little animals, etc..... This is the stroller I was looking at online (it sounds like it's the one you mentioned) ..........

as for furniture... ahhhh, that's another nightmare... please post some pics of what you purchased.. I'd love to see... I can't decide between white furniture or dark (expresso)....

also, I haven't had a nose bleed (yet...) but I don't think it's unusual... I've been super dizzy though... mostly, when I stand up....

well, enough rambling from me.... talk to you later.....
