27-11-2008 - coil !! :(

My mood while writing this blog: fragile

Well i just thought id update a little, Kara is doing great, still breastfeeding well, growing well etc

My main reason for writing this blog is a little warning to you ladies thinking of having the coil put in as a method of contriception......

well i got it put in on tuesday, felt fine got out to reception to make a follow up appt, the room started to spin and before i knew it id hit the deck!! next thing i knew was i was on a bed in the treatment room, the doctor gave me glucose as they thought my blood sugar had dropped causing me to collapse, then i started having extreme pain in my abdomen so i was rushed to the GYN ward at the hospital, i was given a scan and what do you know they couldnt find the coil, turns out the coil had perforated my womb, but luckily just missed my bowel, so they kept me in hospital to take the coil out and observe me, well that was all fine and well until they told me Kara couldnt stay and keith would have to bring her up and down (12 miles each way) for her feeds, so i threatened to discharge myself unless they let her stay... so they did eventually! So much for the NHS promoting breastfeeding!!!

Im ok now still a little fragile but on the mend. xx
