08-7-2008 - 24 Week Midwife Appt.

My mood while writing this blog: Glad

Today I had my 24 week pre-natal appointment with my new midwife!!! It turns out the hospital recommends you see as many different midwives as possible since it's not a guarantee who will deliver your baby in the end. Hmmm....I guess that's ok.

She was VERY thorough. She did an exam since I was complaining of having a couple braxton hicks contractions every day. She also did a test for pre-term labor. My cervix was long, thick, and closed and the test came back negative for pre-term labor!!!

My iron is a little low but everything else looked great! I'm also measuring HUGE! I'm 24 weeks so I should be measuring 24 cm but he's HUGE!! My fundal height (the difference between the top & bottom of your uterus) was 27 cm!!!! She said that's fine since my pelvis is "Nice & Roomy"!

I have to take 2 iron supplements a day, 2 DHA supplements a day (or eat 2 servings of salmon a week), Calcium supplements & my pre-natal pills on top of this antibacterial I'm on for this nasty UTI. BUT, it's all worth it in the end to keep Jacobi safe & healthy!!!

I go back in 4 weeks for another appointment and then it's every two weeks after that! I also have to do the glucouse test at the next appointment. I can't believe I'm already that far along!!!

So everything looks great with the little guy! Love the hospital & midwifery & really just can't wait to meet my little man!!!
