24-8-2008 - Who knew.....

My mood while writing this blog: Frustrated

Who knew that being pampered all day would put me in labor again?!? I got the ok from my midwife to leave my bed for a few hours to get some pampering! I got a waxing, mani & pedi!!

I got a full on waxing (down there) not just bikini!! I am so glad I did! It didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would.

Then, I went and got a pedi & mani at my favorite nail salon! It was so nice to be able to relax a while! Plus, my toe nails needed painting really badly since I can't reach them any longer....at least not well enough to make them look nice!!

I then headed out to lunch with my Mom! I'd been having a few contractions here and there all day (which is normal as of lately). They were 10-15 minutes apart so I didn't worry! Well, all of a sudden while we were eating lunch they got stronger, faster & more consistent. At one point I was having contractions every 30 seconds or so. They were so intense it was scary! I thought for sure I was going to have this baby in my Mom's car.

We started towards my home but decided it would be best to get to the hospital since my Mom's labor's were all under 2 hours....and I don't know what mine will be like since this is my first!!

We got to the L&D and they hooked me up and asked a zillion questions like they always do. The nurse was quite concerned as the contractions were coming ever 1-2 minutes. So she gave me a shot of vistiral to slow the contractions until the doctor could get there.

The doctor came in and checked me and I was at a 3!!! Yikes...not a number I wanted to hear. So she ordered more drugs and an ultrasound. I didn't get to see baby at all but they checked my cervical length.

After being there for 10 hours....they sent me home with a prescription to take every 6 hours to stop labor. So it's back to complete bedrest for me!!! I'm just glad they were able to slow labor.......AGAIN!!!
