My mood while writing this blog: sore

The PICC-LINE in my arm came loose and blood clots had formed in my neck area. (The picc is like a deep IV that runs from my inner upper arm all the way to my heart) I arrived to the E.R. wed night, where I met this ANGEL, a cute little old lady was there who noticed me crying. I was crying b/c I was just a little worried about what was going on and she brought me some tissues and sat next to me. That made me feel better :D (I went in to the E.R. alone, by choice, b/c I know how long things can take to get rollin' in there)

They did an x-ray first to see if the picc was out of place, and YES it was... Next step, remove the bad picc and add a new one to the other arm, which by the way during this process I thought I was going to literally DIE b/c of the way my heart felt like it was stopping beating and I thought I was about to black out!!! (this didnt happen to me the first time they added a picc, so, it was weird that something different happened this time. I was happy my nurse hooked me up to monitor my vitals during the procedure b/c everything was ok, even though it didnt seem like it was)

After that, I was off to do an ultrasound of my veins/arteries to see if in fact blood clots had formed - YES they had... So, then the decision was made to admit me and the plan from there was to be on blood thinner until things began to work themselves out! This started by IV, then moved to a more COMFORTABLE process of SHOTS in my BELLY!

So, now I am home. I feel like I have been in a car accident. I am SORE and my neck is kinda stiff. I have to give myself 2 shots of blood thinner/day and in 3 weeks, that fine number bumps itself up to 3 SHOTS/DAY!!!

At any rate, I am HAPPY TO BE HOME and I am HAPPY we have the technology and experience to deal with these kinds of issues :D

I hope everyone else is doing better than I am. This WILL BE over soon, and now more than ever, I am READY for it to be so!!
