17-4-2008 - April 17th contentMy mood while writing this blog:

Well, my first blog. So far, being pregnant has been a really awesome experience. I have waited 2 years for this little miracle to happen and it is finally here! I took my first pregnancy test on Friday December 7th (almost 6 weeks) but I dismissed the somewhat positive result (faint line) because of previous issues with my period not wanting to come. The following Monday December 10th I took a second test and got a second opinion of the faint line and my friend said she thought it was positive. I met my husband for lunch and just handed him the stick. There was a little crying, a little hugging and a whole lot of excitement. On Dec 17th (7 weeks), I visited my family physician who then confirmed through a urine sample. My first appointment with my Ob/Gyn was on January 16th (11weeks). We were very lucky and got to hear the heartbeat - so reassuring! Appointments on Feb 12th (15 weeks), March 11th (19 weeks) were both good. Heartbeat was strong, my BP was a little high and I almost got put on medicine but I was able to get it down. Thank goodness! Appointment on April 7th - THE BIG DAY. We had our ultrasound and technician made us wait 25 minutes while she took tons of pictures and measured before asking if we wanted to know the sex! Then we found out - IT'S A GIRL! We would be happy either way and were VERY happy to see the little girl with our own eyes moving and growing. A huge calm as since come over me and I don't think I will have problems with my BP now =).
