30-5-2008 - Membrane Sweep

My mood while writing this blog:
YEAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Wellll I had an ultrasound, nst and a membrane sweep today. Zoe must have moved her furniture around because baby girl doesn't want to get out!!! My fluid levels are still normal. Everything in the ultrasound showed up great (she's estimated to be 8 lbs, but I don't believe the estimates to save my soul). She did great during the nst. Everything was...great! I felt bad because part of me was wishing that hopefully my levels were low or she didn't move much so they could medically induce me. *guilty look* I mean, being 41 weeks pregnant is a pain in the *ss!!!

So, just as I was feeling like I lost the battle at Jericho, the doctor told me he was going to give me another cervical exam to see if I've made any progress. So I spread my legs as usual, expecting to feel the awkward touch of fingers inside of my body. *shivering* Instead, I got a different feeling...the best way to describe it: the doctor pushing my cervix apart with his fingers and doing some kind of twisty turn motion inside of me. This feeling...I don't want to say that it HURT, but it didn't feel good. It was kind of like, "what the HELL?!" But as soon as it started, it was over. It wasn't until AFTER I heard him snap off his latex gloves that he informed me that he did a membrane sweep. THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP! *rolling eyes* He told me that a membrane sweep may start labor, and it may not. "What if it doesn't?" I asked. I tried to do my best Halle Berry/Oprah performance to plead to him why I needed to be induced. He told me that the baby is healthy, and he wouldn't let me go past 42 weeks. I gave him the side-eye of a million hells. He asked me why I wanted to be medically induced if there is nothing wrong with the pregnancy or the baby. I told him I wanted OUT of this pregnancy!!!

Mrs. Kaprice Howell is scheduled for a medical inducement Saturday morning at 6:45 am. *mass applause* However...I feel guilty! I feel like I'm kicking my baby out for no reason, other than the fact that I don't want to be pregnant anymore. All she wanted to do was hang out for an extra...*looking at calendar* 8 DAMN DAYS!! I honestly have mixed feelings about it. *shrug* I'm still hoping and praying that she'll decide to come on her own.

After the membrane sweep, I had about 2 cramps, then I felt fine. So I made up my mind that the doctor did the membrane sweep wrong. Buuuuuuuuut, *tmi disclaimer* I just had a SUPER DEE DUPER bowel movement with period like-cramps!!!! That means something, right?! Zoe is moving like CRAZY inside of me, and I'm having period-like cramps...but they aren't coming and going...its like a dull ache with peaks of GOOD GOD TAKE ME NOW!! Could this be labor?!!!! IS THIS THE END OF MY PREGNANCY ROAD?!!! *dramatic music playing in the background*

*dramatic semi-faint*

Well damn its Saturday morning now well at least 1226 am, so this the day hopfully u are inthe hosptial now on your own so need to be induced!! WELL LIKE I ALWAYS SAY I'M PRAYING FOR A EASY DELIEVERY AND HAPPY PUSHING!!! Love u girl text me when she gets here, and send me pics!!! REMEMEBER 2 BREATH

Sounds like the sweep worked. Period like cramps...a dull ache with periods of Good God take me now...Sounds like contractions to me *doubled over having flashbacks* Sounds like Zoe may be packing her things to move out after all.

GUL!!! I got a sweep and had my baby 2 days later.
i felt like....1 contraction and then the next day my waters let loose....so this could be it !!! I pray and hope.....really really hope that she come on her own.
