My mood while writing this blog: Thankful |
Last night Keira did better again...she also stayed swaddled most of the night.
She went down about 7:45 without nursing properly. I went and pumped the milk then she woke back up at 8:20 and I had to feed her the milk I just pumped. LOL! She went back down though at 8:45 and slept until 2:40. Back down at 3:40 and slept until 6:15 (which is when she busted out of her swaddling), I reswaddled her and gave her a pacifier and turned on her vibrations and she went back to sleep on her own. We got up again at 8:30 am she fell asleep at 9:00 and slept until noon but was sleeping on my chest on the couch. No major naps to speak of today except for when I took her for a walk.
Tonight she pulled the fake out on me again. She fell asleep at 7:50 and wouldn't wake to finish nursing. So, I went and started pumping at which time she woke again at 8:20 I nursed her and fed her the bottle that I had started pumping and she promptly fell back asleep again at 8:45. So, I pumped some more and here I sit. She should be down for her long stretch now. And I have an online course to work on.
Night ladies.
Thanks to all of you who have posted your advice and comments to my questions lately. I appreciate them.

Tuesday, 24 Feb Just out of curiosity...why do you feed her what you just pumped? Your breast will still have milk in them... the babies can get what the pump can't and that's a constant flow. I used to feel bad about pumping when he wouldn't eat but if he would wake, he'd latch right on and be just as satisfied. I do however think I created a big demand because my boobs need relief at least every 3 hours either from him or the pump. I've stored almost 200ozs in the freezer so far. We only give Brady a 2 oz bottle a day just to get him used to it before I go back to work. And how lucky for her to sleep soooo long! He's doing longer stretches too but I wish he would sleep as long as she did! Then, during the day its like 15 minute naps off and on until about 4 he starts taking longer naps. I also wish he would stay swaddled. He hates being covered...any part of his body..lol he kicks all socks, blankets everything off and turns his whole body around in his bed. Like the hands on a clock, I lay him one way and he scoots somehow and is facing a totally different way. He throws his legs up like a crawfish....babies are too funny and so unique! I hope you're enjoying every moment! Glad you're getting some sleep too!!
