02-4-2009 - Temporary setback

My mood while writing this blog: Hopeful

Ken and I were up at 4:30 in the morning because we were both so excited to have Katelyn come home, that we wanted everything to be just perfect. We were washing the curtains, vacuuming the furniture doing all the laundry, setting up her co-sleeper and swing etc. Then we got a call at 7:30 in the morning from the NICU doctor telling us that they changed their mind about sending her home. She had lost a little weight overnight, just about an ounce and her temperature was a little low so they didn't feel like she was quite ready. We were crushed. I just want her home with us already. This is the hardest thing I've ever been through. We are hopeful that she will be able to come home by the weekend. though. Thanks for all your good wishes. I will let you all know when we get some good news. Hope you are all doing great. You are all in my prayers.

I know it is a waiting game sweetie, but at least the docs are being really safe and attentive. You will all be in my prayers. Let us know when she is home.

It sounds like you're on a roller coaster with little Katelyn. But I'm really glad the NICU is keeping such a good eye on her. Try to get a good night's sleep tonight - because I'm sure she will be home with you soon. Can't wait to see pictures of her homecoming!!!
